New Year's Eve in Rio doesn't start at midnight – it begins with crowds in white filling the streets by the ocean. People carry flowers to the water for Yemanjá, music echoes from the stages, and then fireworks rise over the Atlantic, their bursts shattering into reflections on the dark waves.
The Sugarloaf Mountain cable car takes you up in two stages: first to Urca Hill, then higher still, to the open bay. From this height, you can make out the boats in the water, the curve of Botafogo, the scattered islands, Copacabana beach, and Christ the Redeemer on the distant ridge.
The train climbs through the forest, and the city appears only in brief glimpses between the trees. At the top, Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro greets you with sweeping coastal views. Some come to photograph the bay, others to say a prayer, and many simply pause for a moment of quiet stillness.
Ilha Grande – a Brazilian island off the Costa Verde coast – is best explored from the water. A private boat weaves between the green shores and stops at secluded beaches for swimming. Day 1: Arrival in Rio – Check-in at Copacabana Palace
Upon arrival at Rio de Janeiro airport, you’ll be met by your guide and taken on a private transfer to your hotel. After a long flight, it’s a relief to breathe in the warm, humid air with its scent of the ocean. Outside the window, granite slopes cut through the neighborhoods, palm trees flash by, and water appears between the buildings.
For four nights, you’ll stay at the Copacabana Palace (Belmond Hotel) in a One Bedroom Double Suite with pool view and breakfast. This iconic luxury hotel sits right across from Copacabana Beach. Your private Brazil tour has begun – you can head straight to the ocean or simply rest after your flight. At sunset, lights begin to glow on the hills, the shoreline stands out against the sea, and along Avenida Atlântica, you can feel the cool sand and hear the waves mixing with the city’s evening hum.

Day 2: Rio – Sugarloaf Mountain & City Tour
After breakfast, you’ll meet your English-speaking guide in the hotel lobby. The 4-hour excursion starts at Red Beach, where the cable car lifts you to Urca Hill. The cabin rises almost silently, houses shrink below, and the bay with its boats unfolds beneath you. At Urca, you can pause for a drink or a snack. A second ascent takes you to Sugarloaf Mountain. From the top, you’ll see Copacabana beach stretching along the Atlantic, the islands, and the Niterói Bridge. Across the forested ridge, Christ the Redeemer stands on Corcovado. The wind here is stronger, and you can taste the salt in the air. Then, you’ll explore Rio’s historic center – old churches, darkened stone facades, the cathedral, and streets that still hold the feel of colonial times. This part of the city reveals a quieter, deeper Rio.
Day 2: Rio – Sugarloaf Mountain & City Tour -1
Day 3: Rio – Corcovado & Christ the Redeemer
The climb up Corcovado Mountain to Christ the Redeemer begins at the station: the train moves slowly upward, with the city appearing in brief glimpses between the trees. On steep sections, a cogwheel rail holds the train steady. The Tijuca Forest comes right up to the tracks; you may even spot monkeys and birds in the branches. The panorama from the top is wider than from Sugarloaf – you’ll see Guanabara Bay, Maracanã Stadium, the Botanical Garden, the Niterói Bridge, and the Atlantic coastline. From here, it’s clear how neighborhoods weave around forested hills and settle in the gaps by the water. For some, it’s a chance to see the city from above; for others, a moment for quiet reflection. After the tour, you’ll return to Copacabana Palace for a restful stay in one of Rio’s finest 5-star hotels.
Day 3: Rio – Corcovado & Christ the Redeemer -2
Helicopter Flight Over Rio (Optional)
A helicopter flight over Rio is an unforgettable experience. The ground falls away smoothly, and within moments, the coastline opens up. Below, you’ll see Leblon, Ipanema, and Copacabana beaches, the lagoon, the Botanical Garden, Sugarloaf, and the yachts in the bay. From the air, the geography of Rio becomes clear: neighborhoods tucked between ocean, cliffs, and forest. The highlight is the pass around Christ the Redeemer, giving you a full view of the statue against the city and the sea. Transfer is included. The flight operates with a minimum of 4 people.

Day 4: Rio – Private Boat Tour to Ilha Grande
After breakfast, you’ll be driven to Angra dos Reis – a 3 to 4-hour transfer – for a private boat tour around Ilha Grande. For the day, city streets give way to green islands, quiet coves, and open water. The boat will stop at several beaches, offering time to rest and swim. Some beaches have calm waters, others are framed by forest that comes right down to the sand. When the engine cuts out, the only sounds are the lapping of water and the calls of birds. Dolphins may appear near the boat; a turtle might surface; large fish may pass beneath. Passengers keep their eyes on the water, hoping to catch the first glimpse of dark fins. A full day of coastal exploration and swimming, away from Copacabana's crowds. In the evening, your driver will meet you at the port and take you back to Rio.
Day 4: Rio – Private Boat Tour to Ilha Grande -4
Day 5: Rio – New Year's Eve on Copacabana
The morning and afternoon are free. You can relax before the celebration or book an optional tour: a boat trip, a hike through Tijuca Forest, ocean fishing, a visit to the Botanical Garden, or a tour of the modern and historic city center.
In the evening, you’ll enjoy a VIP New Year’s dinner at Belmond, included in the program. Then, it’s time for the New Year’s celebration on Copacabana Beach. Crowds in white gather by the water, music fills the air, and believers bring flowers and small boats with offerings for Yemanjá, the goddess of the sea. This ritual marks the New Year in Brazil – white symbolizes peace and renewal. At midnight, fireworks light up the dark water, reflecting off the waves and illuminating the shore. Free concerts continue well past midnight, and Copacabana stays alive until dawn.
Day 5: Rio – New Year's Eve on Copacabana -5
Day 6: Flight to Iguazu – Check-in at Belmond das Cataratas
After breakfast, you’ll transfer to the airport and fly to Foz do Iguaçu. Here, the Iguazu River drops over a basalt escarpment into approximately 275 separate waterfalls. The falls lie on the border of Brazil and Argentina, surrounded by subtropical forest. Even from a distance, the spray is visible above the trees, and the roar reaches you before you see the water.
You’ll check in at Belmond Hotel das Cataratas, in a Deluxe double room with breakfast. The pink hotel sits inside the national park, directly opposite the falls. Among Belmond hotels in Brazil, its location is unique – once the park closes, the surroundings become noticeably quieter. Not many luxury hotels in Brazil let you step out to a natural wonder before the main crowds arrive. Today is for rest; tomorrow, you’ll explore the falls up close.
Day 6: Flight to Iguazu – Check-in at Belmond das Cataratas -6
Day 7: Iguazu – Brazilian Side, Devil's Throat
The Brazilian side of Iguazu Falls offers a full panorama. The falls appear first between the trees on the far bank, then the trail opens to the canyon. Most of the falls lie across from you, so you can follow the entire line of the escarpment. Some streams disappear behind rocks, then reappear below, already in the river. A mist hangs over the forest. As you approach the Devil's Throat, the air becomes thick with spray, the sound overwhelms conversation, and cameras must be tucked away. Standing on the wet walkway, you feel the waterfall's force directly – a moment of pure awe.
Day 7: Iguazu – Brazilian Side, Devil's Throat -7
Optional Iguazu Excursions: Macuco Safari, Helicopter Flight & Bird Park
Macuco Safari: a 3‑km open‑jeep ride through the forest with guide commentary, followed by a motorboat trip straight to the falls. The roar of the water soon drowns out the engine, spray flies over the bow, and rainbows appear in the sunlight.

A helicopter flight over Iguazu shows the entire cascade at once – the forest, the canyon, the cloud of spray, and the Devil's Throat. 

Bird Park: walk through large aviaries where toucans, scarlet ibises, and parrots fly close to you among the trees.

Day 8: Flight to Bonito – Check-in at Arte da Natureza
After breakfast, you’ll be driven to the airport for a flight via Campo Grande to Bonito. The landscape changes to the interior of Mato Grosso do Sul – no ocean, no big cities. Bonito is a region of limestone, caves, and rivers so clear you can see the bottom. The water emerges from springs with almost no sediment and flows through pure limestone, remaining transparent. Schools of fish move below the surface. You’ll check in to Arte da Natureza Hotel Bonito in a Premium room with breakfast. The hotel is centrally located. Today is a chance to rest before the adventures begin.
Day 8: Flight to Bonito – Check-in at Arte da Natureza -9
Day 9: Bonito – Snorkeling at Rio Sucuri
After breakfast, you’ll head to Rio Sucuri. A 2.5‑km forest trail lets you spot birds and wildlife, including the mutum, the long-tailed udu, capuchin monkeys, and cutias. At the spring, you begin snorkeling – you float in the clear water and the current carries you forward, letting you watch the fish and underwater plants glide beneath you. Among Bonito's excursions, this one is remarkable for its calm: you don’t swim, you simply drift with the river and observe.
Day 9: Bonito – Snorkeling at Rio Sucuri -10
Abismo Anhumas – Exclusive Cave Descent
Located about 20 km from Bonito, Abismo Anhumas appears as a narrow crack in the ground. An electric platform lowers you 72 meters into a vast cavern with an underground lake. Once inside, you can take a boat tour to see stalactites, stalagmites, and submerged limestone cones, then snorkel in the clear water above the hidden rock formations. Price: USD 350 per person (limited to 8 persons per day).

Day 10: Bonito – Blue Lake Grotto & Estancia Mimosa
Today, you visit one of Bonito's most extraordinary sights: Gruta do Lago Azul (Blue Lake Grotto). Stone steps lead down to an underground lake where the water turns a vivid blue. Researchers have found fossils of giant sloths, armadillos, and saber-toothed tigers on the lake bed. Then, you’ll head to Estancia Mimosa – a farm with a forest trail along the Mimoso River, wooden walkways, and 8 waterfalls where you can swim in natural pools. The program includes a short boat ride and a 6‑meter platform for jumping into the water. After lunch, you can relax in a hammock.
Day 10: Bonito – Blue Lake Grotto & Estancia Mimosa -12
Day 11: Flight to Recife – Transfer to Porto de Galinhas
After breakfast, you’ll be taken to the airport for a flight to Recife, followed by a transfer to Porto de Galinhas, about 60 km south. This coastal resort is known for its reefs that form natural pools at low tide – calm, clear, and perfect for swimming. You’ll stay at Nannai Muro Alto in a two‑person bungalow with ocean view and half‑board. After the flight and transfer, the rest of the day is free to enjoy the water.
Day 11: Flight to Recife – Transfer to Porto de Galinhas -13
Days 12–15: Beach Relaxation at Porto de Galinhas
Four days of complete freedom. At Nannai Muro Alto, you can start the day on the sand, wait for low tide, and swim beyond the reef wall. The water here is warm and calm, and the light sand remains visible even in deeper water. If you want to explore other beaches, the resort offers trips on jangadas – local flat‑bottomed rafts – to natural pools where you can snorkel among small fish. Diving and beach buggy tours are also available. Or simply stay by the pool, walk along Muro Alto, or return to the sea in the evening when the sand is cool. Me quede muy impresionado de la cultura Inca y la visita al Machu Picchu era una experiencia espiritual elevadora. El viaje de Arequipa a Nasca de 10 horas por bus era agotador. Llegue dormido a Nasca y me tuvieron que departar. Comprendo que para poder ver a el condor y también volar sobra el desierto de Nasca este viaje fue la mejor opción.
Los hoteles fueron perfectos. Mi favorita fue lq Britania Crystal Miraflores. Yo le daría 4.5 *. Yo recomendaria este tour a qualquiera que quira hacer el tour como yo lo hice. Espero que con las conecciones aerias directas proramadas entre Curacao i Lima ( comensando el fin de año) y con el nuevo aeropuerto international en Cusco en algunos años el turismo desde Curacao sea mas grande.

Good afternoon, we were in Rio de Janeiro March 15–17, 2020. Not for long, but it was very full of experiences.
The driver who met us at the airport, to our joy, spoke English and even a little Russian. He pointed out where we could walk and eat.
The next day we met Eleonora, a GUIDE and a Person with a capital P. We were lucky to visit Corcovado and see Brazil’s main symbol. Unfortunately, we couldn’t make it to Sugarloaf Mountain due to the coronavirus quarantine.
Instead of the canceled excursion, Eleonora gave us an impromptu city tour. She tells stories in an interesting way, knows a lot, but doesn’t overwhelm with facts, shows where the best photo spots are, and even took pictures herself. Thanks to her, we managed to get coffee and souvenirs—it turned out not so easy to find what we wanted.
She was very caring and concerned for us—even after we went to Búzios, she kept checking how we were, suggesting where to go and what to see and buy.

We are publishing our review after our trip through Argentina–Uruguay–Brazil with my wife. It is always a pleasure to share emotions when they are entirely positive! We want to thank the entire Ada Tours team who helped us organize the perfect journey. From the very idea of the trip to its completion, you were always in touch with us, tailoring excursions and building the itinerary based on our requests, while also giving valuable advice and making all necessary adjustments. Everything exceeded our already high expectations – the trip was very rich and exciting! We recommend this route to everyone, especially when its organization can be entrusted to professionals☺️
We would especially like to thank you for selecting wonderful guides and drivers. At every stage, everything went like clockwork – we never missed a single thing, and the drivers were always extremely polite and pleasant.
Our journey began in Buenos Aires with a city tour. We visited the main square – Plaza de Mayo, cathedrals, and saw key architectural monuments from the Spanish colonial period, as well as the modern financial center. We explored the vibrant and colorful La Boca district and the main city ports. We were lucky with the weather, and the tour was fascinating. The guide advised us to visit several additional places, and we chose the Recoleta Cemetery, where many of Argentina’s most famous figures are buried. After the tour, we asked to be dropped off near the entrance and bought tickets. The only issue we faced was that we couldn’t pay in cash, but other visitors kindly helped us with the payment. The cemetery left a strong impression on us – we would definitely recommend it as a must-visit.
In the evening, we went to a tango show that exceeded all expectations. We watched authentic Argentine tango performed to live music, enjoyed Argentine wine, and saw other artists showcasing traditional instruments. The show was incredible and allowed us to truly experience the local culture.
The next morning we traveled by ferry to Montevideo. The journey was very comfortable; we would only recommend bringing snacks and an extra layer of clothing, as despite the heat, the ferry was air-conditioned and quite cool inside. We loved the city itself – we managed to see all the main sights and stroll along the coast. Midway through the tour, a wonderful lunch was arranged for us, followed by a light meal at the hotel.
After Montevideo, we continued as planned to Patagonia, where we spent just under three days. This place amazed us – it’s like nowhere else on Earth. From our hotel, we could see the vast Lake Argentino with its turquoise waters (sometimes flamingos can be seen there, though unfortunately we didn’t). The scenery of the Patagonian steppe and mountains will remain in our hearts for a long time. We took an excursion to the Perito Moreno Glacier – a unique wonder, truly beyond words. Probably the most powerful impression of the whole trip came from this glacier and the national park. It’s something everyone should witness with their own eyes.
After our mini-journey in Patagonia, we went on to Iguassu Falls, viewing them from both the Argentine and Brazilian sides. The sight was utterly unique and magical! Jungle, soaring eagles, butterflies, monkeys, and an endless chain of waterfalls stretching beyond sight. The park’s trails are very well maintained, with rest areas to escape the heat and humidity, and facilities everywhere.
The final stop of our trip was Brazil’s tourist capital – Rio de Janeiro. We visited the Christ the Redeemer statue, with its breathtaking views of the city, then spent time on Copacabana Beach, enjoying the Atlantic Ocean.
Overall, our journey was amazing and very full! And most importantly – as comfortable as possible, considering how vast the geography of our route was. Thank you!
