Day 2: Recife & Olinda – Colonial Heritage and Ocean Views (Full-Day City Tour)

What to see in Recife? You visit three sectors of the Recife historic center: Recife, Santo Antônio, and Boa Vista. You cross the Maurício de Nassau bridge and arrive at the Republic Square, where the Governor's Palace, the Santa Isabel Theatre, and the courthouse stand in the shade of the trees. In the Casa da Cultura - a 19th-century former prison - the old cells now hold shops: spices, ceramics, textiles, and local food.
Then a transfer to Olinda tour). Olinda is a UNESCO World Heritage Site - included for its well-preserved Olinda UNESCO historic center and its 16th–18th century architecture. The Olinda church collection is extraordinary: you move from church to square, from square to ocean view, and the hours pass without noticing. You visit the Church of Mercy and the São Bento Monastery. Then you climb to the Church of the Savior, at the highest point of the city on Alto da Sé Hill - from here, an amazing panorama opens over both sister cities.
