Why Choose This VIP Colombia Tour?

Top highlights

This Colombia luxury tour takes you through completely different parts of the country. You start in the high-altitude capital Bogotá, move through the coffee valleys of the Andes, discover the colonial beauty of Cartagena, and finish on the Caribbean islands of the Rosario archipelago. In one trip you see the old streets of La Candelaria, the misty hillsides of the coffee region, the giant wax palms Cocora Valley, and the calm blue lagoons of the Caribbean Sea. This VIP tour Colombia is built to keep changing the mood: colonial city walks, flights over the Andes, coffee farm visits, a trip to Guatavita Lake, boat crossings, and lazy days on Baru Island Colombia. Colombia reveals itself through contrasts: cool mountain air, lush tropics, busy city markets, and quiet beaches by coral lagoons. Your 10 day Colombia itinerary connects nature, food, history, and comfortable travel. That is why travelers choose it when they want more than sightseeing. They want to feel what a country is really like.

Bogotá. Cool Andean air, the colonial streets of La Candelaria Bogotá, and old houses with red tile roofs. The city comes alive through museums, markets, street art, and the panoramic view from Monserrate cable car high above the city.
Gold Museum Bogotá. Behind the heavy doors of the Gold Museum Bogotá there are thousands of ritual objects and golden figures from pre-Columbian cultures. The dim light, the gleam of metal, and the intricate patterns make it feel like a magical theater.
Guatavita Lake. You travel to Guatavita Lake through cool highland forests and small Andean villages. This is the birthplace of the El Dorado legend Lake Guatavita. Standing by the water in the mist and green hills, you understand why Spanish explorers searched for this place for centuries.
Zipaquira Salt Cathedral. Going 180 meters underground, you discover the Zipaquira Salt Cathedral. It is a huge complex carved directly inside a salt mine. Cool air, soft light, and long tunnels create an almost unreal feeling of space.
Pereira and the Coffee Region. This is a completely different Colombia: wet mountain slopes, coffee farms, and misty Andean valleys. This is where the coffee farm tour Colombia takes place, in the heart of the coffee tasting Pereira region. And nearby: the famous Cocora Valley Colombia with the tallest wax palm trees in the world.
Hot Air Balloon over the Coffee Valley. Early in the morning you take a hot air balloon Colombia ride over the waking coffee valley. Below, the plantations slowly come to life. Mist rises between the green hills. Sunlight gradually fills the Andean slopes.
Cartagena. The Caribbean coast: fortress walls, colonial squares, and old monasteries. Busy streets in Getsemani neighborhood, sea breeze, old bastions, and warm evening light over the bay. All in one city.
Baru Island and the Rosario Archipelago. After the cities and the Andes, the route ends at Baru Island Colombia and the Rosario Islands Colombia. This is where the real beach holiday in Colombia begins: clear water, coral lagoons, wooden piers, and quiet evenings by the Caribbean Sea.

Your 10-Day VIP Colombia Itinerary

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Bogotá, Check-in at Four Seasons Casa Medina
You land at El Dorado International Airport. You are met and taken to Four Seasons Bogotá, the Bogotá city tour base for the first part of your journey. This is a historic building from 1946 in the Zona G neighborhood, known for its restaurants. Inside: wooden beams, carved furniture, fireplaces, and the feel of a private city mansion.
Bogotá does not try to impress you immediately. It is a high-altitude capital at 2,600 meters, where cool mornings quickly give way to bright sunshine and clouds move constantly above the eastern Andes. The city is loved for its density and character: the colonial streets of La Candelaria Bogotá lead into neighborhoods with galleries, cocktail bars, and restaurants serving modern Colombian food.
The best time to visit the Colombia coffee region and the whole country is from December to March: fewer rains and clearer mountain views.

Day 1: Arrival in Bogotá, Check-in at Four Seasons Casa Medina -0
Day 2: Bogotá, Gold Museum, Casa de la Moneda, Botero Museum and Monserrate
Breakfast at the hotel. An English-speaking guide, private transport, and pre-arranged skip-the-line entry accompany you through the day in Bogota - the capital of Colombia.
The excursion begins in La Candelaria, the old neighborhood with narrow streets, dark wooden balconies, and red-roofed houses.
The first big stop is the Gold Museum Bogotá. Inside: thousands of ornaments, ritual objects, and figures made by pre-Columbian peoples. The dim halls, the reflection of metal, and the complex patterns create an almost theatrical experience.
Then Casa de la Moneda and the Botero Museum Bogotá, where paintings, drawings, and sculptures by Fernando Botero are on display alongside colonial courtyards. The excursion continues at Plaza Bolivar: the Cathedral, the Narino House (Colombia's presidency), the Lievano Palace (Bogotá's city hall), and the Palace of Justice.
The day ends with a ride up on the Monserrate cable car. From the top you can see exactly how the city stretches along the Andean plateau. A view that stays with you.

Note: The Gold Museum is closed on Mondays. Casa de la Moneda and the Botero Museum are closed on Tuesdays.

If you are fascinated by pre-Columbian history and high-altitude cities, you can extend your journey with our luxury Peru tour featuring Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley.

Day 2: Bogotá, Gold Museum, Casa de la Moneda, Botero Museum and Monserrate -1
Day 3: Bogotá, Guatavita Lake (El Dorado Legend) and Zipaquira Salt Cathedral
A full excursion day of about 9 hours. Private tour to Guatavita Lake and Zipaquira.
The drive to Guatavita takes about 2 hours. First a walk through the center of the small town, then out to the sacred lake. The El Dorado legend Lake Guatavita starts right here: this is believed to be the birthplace of one of the most famous myths in South America. Walking the indigenous trails, you might even find a few grains of gold.
Your guide recommends a good restaurant for lunch (not included).
In the afternoon: a 2-hour drive to Zipaquira. A walk through the main square and its charming streets, then a visit to the Zipaquira Salt Cathedral. It sits 180 meters underground: cool air, dark tunnels, softly lit niches, and salt in the walls all around you. Then back to Bogotá (about 1.5 hours).

Note: The lake is closed on Mondays.
Day 3: Bogotá, Guatavita Lake (El Dorado Legend) and Zipaquira Salt Cathedral -2
Day 4: Flight to Pereira, Cocora Valley and Coffee Farm Tour
After breakfast: transfer to El Dorado Airport and a flight to Pereira. On arrival at Matecana Airport, you set off for Salento and the Cocora Valley Colombia.
Welcome to the heart of the coffee farm tour Colombia experience. The coffee triangle is famous for its finest coffee varieties and a rare mix of nature, small colonial towns, and private farms. You are welcomed with a traditional canelazoa warm spiced drink, then an eco-guide leads you through the Cocora nature reserve.
The main sight here is the Cocora Valley Colombia with its wax palms Cocora Valley, the tallest palm trees in the world. You also plant palm seedlings and learn about local traditions.
In the afternoon: a walk through Salento town tour with its colonial streets, craft workshops, and viewpoints.

Optional: ecological horseback riding, walks to special spots in the valley, a typical lunch in the valley (not included), or a barista show at Café Jesús Martín in Salento.

Day 4: Flight to Pereira, Cocora Valley and Coffee Farm Tour -3
Coffee Farm El Ocaso*
In the afternoon: a visit to coffee farm El Ocaso, sitting at around 1,500 meters in the Central Andes of Colombia. The road passes through green slopes, coffee bushes, and humid mountain forest.
A local expert shows you how coffee grows in the volcanic soils of the region, how the berries are picked by hand, and why the best varieties still use selective processing. Then you visit a traditional farmhouse where coffee beans are roasted over a wood fire in the kitchen, and you sit down to a cup of freshly brewed coffee.
The route passes several viewpoints looking over the hills and plantations. You see the drying of the beans, the processing plant, and you taste freshly brewed coffee. The tour ends with a coffee lemonade at the farmhouse. Transfer to hotel. Stay at Visus Hotel Boutique and Spa.

Coffee Farm El Ocaso* -4
Day 5: Adventure Day, Hot Air Balloon, Canopy and Flight to Cartagena
Departure around 5 in the morning. You take a hot air balloon Colombia ride over the waking coffee valley. From above: coffee plantations, eucalyptus trees, narrow dirt roads, and small farms scattered across the Andean slopes. The mist rises slowly between the green hills. This is one of the most beautiful parts of the entire journey.
After the flight: a second breakfast (not included), then a canopy zip line coffee region tour through the top level of the tropical forest. The route passes under the treetops on suspended platforms and zip lines over the green slopes.
Then a horseback ride through the coffee valley. The trail runs alongside plantations, bamboo groves, and small farms, with views over the green folds of the Andes from the higher stretches.
Transfer to the airport and a flight to Cartagena. Transfer to Sofitel Legend Santa Clara Cartagena.

For another exceptional coffee and nature experience, explore our luxury Costa Rica tour with cloud forests and active volcanoes.

Day 5: Adventure Day, Hot Air Balloon, Canopy and Flight to Cartagena -5
Day 6: Cartagena, VIP City Tour of the Old Town and San Felipe Fortress
Breakfast at the hotel. The Cartagena luxury travel experience begins. What to see in Cartagena in 2 days? Colonial squares, old monasteries, and the vibrant Getsemani neighborhood.
You pass through the neighborhoods of Bocagrande, Castillogrande, and Manga, then climb to La Popa hill for views over the harbor, the red rooftops, and the old port. Here sits the 17th-century monastery of Santa Cruz with its beautiful image of the Virgin of Candelaria.
Then the San Felipe fortress Cartagena, the largest Spanish defensive structure in the Americas. The route continues along the bastions and walls of the historic center, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
You also visit the Getsemani neighborhood and Las Bovedas, the Vaults. Once used to store ammunition, today they are one of the best places to buy souvenirs: small jewelry, hammocks, and paintings. The excursion ends along Avenida Santander, with views over the bastions and city walls.
Day 6: Cartagena, VIP City Tour of the Old Town and San Felipe Fortress -6
Day 7: Luxury Beach Day on Baru Island
After breakfast: transfer to Marina Santa Cruz pier. A speedboat takes you from Pegasos pier across Cartagena Bay and through Bocachicas, past the old Spanish forts of San Fernando and San Jose. The city slowly disappears behind you, the water becomes brighter, and the Rosario Islands Colombia appear on the horizon: an archipelago of clear Caribbean water and coral lagoons.
You arrive at Baru Island Colombia, where you are welcomed with a cocktail and settled into a bungalow with a private pool at Las Islas hotel.
This is where the real beach holiday in Colombia begins: white sand, warm sea, wooden piers, and the slow rhythm of the Caribbean islands. Nearby is Colombia's national underwater park, the largest protected marine area in the country, with corals, tropical fish, and mangrove channels. Kayaking and diving are both available: in the coastal waters you can see corals, sponges, shellfish, and many kinds of exotic fish.

To experience more colonial charm and Caribbean beaches, take a look at our luxury Panama tour with Casco Antiguo and the San Blas Islands.

Day 7: Luxury Beach Day on Baru Island -7
Day 8: Rosario Islands – Luxury Boat, Snorkeling & Beach Club on Barú Island
The days on Baru move slowly. Just the sea, boats by wooden piers, and the warm Caribbean wind. After the Andes and the colonial cities, this part of the VIP Colombia tour 10 days changes the entire rhythm of the journey. Mornings begin with the sound of waves and light coming through palm trees to the bungalow terraces.
The beaches here look different from the mainland: white sand, mangrove channels, low-lying islands, and coral patches close to the shore. This is exactly what people come to the Rosario Islands Colombia and Baru Island Colombia for: clear water, calm lagoons, and the constant feeling of open sea.
During the day you can go diving, kayak through the mangroves, or walk around the island. Or visit the Encantada lagoon, hidden among the mangroves and known for its calm, emerald water. Or simply spend the day by the water, listening to the palms and the surf.

If you prefer a more extensive beach escape with cultural highlights, consider our luxury Argentina tour combining Buenos Aires, Patagonia, and Iguazu Falls.
Day 8: Rosario Islands – Luxury Boat, Snorkeling & Beach Club on Barú Island -8
Day 10: Cartagena – Transfer to Airport & Departure
In the morning: a boat transfer to Cartagena and then to the airport. Your Colombia vacation package comes to an end.
In these ten days you have seen Colombia from many sides. High-altitude Bogotá with its cool Andean air, the colonial streets of Cartagena Old Town, coffee valleys with their misty mornings, and quiet Caribbean islands. Each region has its own personality.
This is why more and more travelers choose a 10 day Colombia itinerary like this one for 2026 and 2027. They do not just want to see new places. They want to feel the character of a country through its landscapes, climates, cities, and nature.
After this journey, you take home the cool air of Monserrate, the smell of roasting coffee in the Andes, and the sound of Caribbean water by the piers of Baru. May those memories stay with you for a long time.

Buenas noches Viera.

Pavel, good afternoon!
My name is Marina Ryzhuk. A few weeks ago, our VIP group from St. Petersburg visited Rio with you. I believe you remember them well.
I’d like to thank you for your excellent work with our rather demanding guests. After the trip, they spoke very highly of your services. Our particularly important gentlemen especially appreciated your personal approach — you managed to find a special way to connect with them.
Through your tours, they were able to truly feel the city, which is absolutely priceless on such trips.
Thank you!

They said everything was as precise as with the Germans :)
REVIEW №11- Mikhail and Elena Leksikov
Good afternoon, we were in Rio de Janeiro March 15–17, 2020. Not for long, but it was very full of experiences.
The driver who met us at the airport, to our joy, spoke English and even a little Russian. He pointed out where we could walk and eat.
The next day we met Eleonora, a GUIDE and a Person with a capital P. We were lucky to visit Corcovado and see Brazil’s main symbol. Unfortunately, we couldn’t make it to Sugarloaf Mountain due to the coronavirus quarantine.
Instead of the canceled excursion, Eleonora gave us an impromptu city tour. She tells stories in an interesting way, knows a lot, but doesn’t overwhelm with facts, shows where the best photo spots are, and even took pictures herself. Thanks to her, we managed to get coffee and souvenirs—it turned out not so easy to find what we wanted.
She was very caring and concerned for us—even after we went to Búzios, she kept checking how we were, suggesting where to go and what to see and buy.

A very close-knit, friendly team, always ready to help.
REVIEW №12- Nikita, Saga Tour Operator
Good afternoon, Alexandra!
Thank you very much for the organization and support.
The tourist was very happy and said everything was top-notch :)
Paraty is definitely a place to recommend—it leaves no one indifferent. Porto Real is probably in the best spot on that coast.

Thank you!
Wishing you success in everything!

Alexandra!
Our clients have returned, very satisfied.
They left a special review about the guide in Quito:
In Quito, we had a wonderful guide named David.
During our three-day visit to Quito, your guide David was with us. He made our stay in Quito rich, interesting, and unforgettable. Not only does he know a lot about the city, the country, and its nature, he is also a truly interesting person himself. Our three days were filled with conversations about everything. Our knowledge of Ecuador is now practically encyclopedic—we learned so much. And the most important part was that it all happened through engaging discussions.
We’d like to highlight his punctuality, his thoughtfulness, and his attention to detail. His advice on restaurants and places to walk during our free time was invaluable. We’ve met many guides—this is the 103rd country we’ve visited. We don’t always get so lucky with a guide, but David was exceptional. Thank you to him and to all of you!!!

THANK YOU FOR THE EXCELLENT ORGANIZATION.
REVIEW №15- Elena and Evgeny

A poem dedicated to the Ada Tours guide!
In Rio, where sunlight meets golden skies,
Our guide Paulo greets us with kind, warm eyes.
He knows the whole city, where secrets lie deep,
And welcomes each guest with joy that’s sincere.
“Come on,” he says, “to Corcovado,
Christ calls you up to heaven’s shadow.
Then on to the beach, where waves beat the shore,
Copacabana invites us once more.”

Paulo will show us where samba resides,
Where Brazil’s true heartbeat endlessly thrives.
In favelas he sees not poverty, but life,
Where sparks of hope conquer struggle and strife.

With a smile, he leads us along every way,
Paulo’s our friend, our golden pathway.
A Brazilian guide, a master of wonder,
With him, Rio feels closer to heaven’s splendor.

This poem is from me, for you.

Good afternoon, Alexandra.
I want to thank you for organizing our vacation.
Our guides were simply outstanding – top class.
Pavel knows so much about Brazil and Rio in particular. He’s very easy to talk to, communicates effortlessly with people, is always learning something new, and gladly shares his knowledge. An excellent guide and a wonderful person.
And Tiago – we spent two days with him. He’s amazing. Even after 18 years of work, he hasn’t lost the ability to genuinely admire the beauty of the waterfalls. He still takes photos like it’s the first time.
With your guides, it’s never boring! Thank you once again!!!
REVIEW №34- Tatyana Yakubova
Hello, Alexandra.
I am sending you the full version of the tourists’ feedback:
We are publishing our review after our trip through Argentina–Uruguay–Brazil with my wife. It is always a pleasure to share emotions when they are entirely positive! We want to thank the entire Ada Tours team who helped us organize the perfect journey. From the very idea of the trip to its completion, you were always in touch with us, tailoring excursions and building the itinerary based on our requests, while also giving valuable advice and making all necessary adjustments. Everything exceeded our already high expectations – the trip was very rich and exciting! We recommend this route to everyone, especially when its organization can be entrusted to professionals☺️
We would especially like to thank you for selecting wonderful guides and drivers. At every stage, everything went like clockwork – we never missed a single thing, and the drivers were always extremely polite and pleasant.
Our journey began in Buenos Aires with a city tour. We visited the main square – Plaza de Mayo, cathedrals, and saw key architectural monuments from the Spanish colonial period, as well as the modern financial center. We explored the vibrant and colorful La Boca district and the main city ports. We were lucky with the weather, and the tour was fascinating. The guide advised us to visit several additional places, and we chose the Recoleta Cemetery, where many of Argentina’s most famous figures are buried. After the tour, we asked to be dropped off near the entrance and bought tickets. The only issue we faced was that we couldn’t pay in cash, but other visitors kindly helped us with the payment. The cemetery left a strong impression on us – we would definitely recommend it as a must-visit.
In the evening, we went to a tango show that exceeded all expectations. We watched authentic Argentine tango performed to live music, enjoyed Argentine wine, and saw other artists showcasing traditional instruments. The show was incredible and allowed us to truly experience the local culture.
The next morning we traveled by ferry to Montevideo. The journey was very comfortable; we would only recommend bringing snacks and an extra layer of clothing, as despite the heat, the ferry was air-conditioned and quite cool inside. We loved the city itself – we managed to see all the main sights and stroll along the coast. Midway through the tour, a wonderful lunch was arranged for us, followed by a light meal at the hotel.
After Montevideo, we continued as planned to Patagonia, where we spent just under three days. This place amazed us – it’s like nowhere else on Earth. From our hotel, we could see the vast Lake Argentino with its turquoise waters (sometimes flamingos can be seen there, though unfortunately we didn’t). The scenery of the Patagonian steppe and mountains will remain in our hearts for a long time. We took an excursion to the Perito Moreno Glacier – a unique wonder, truly beyond words. Probably the most powerful impression of the whole trip came from this glacier and the national park. It’s something everyone should witness with their own eyes.
After our mini-journey in Patagonia, we went on to Iguassu Falls, viewing them from both the Argentine and Brazilian sides. The sight was utterly unique and magical! Jungle, soaring eagles, butterflies, monkeys, and an endless chain of waterfalls stretching beyond sight. The park’s trails are very well maintained, with rest areas to escape the heat and humidity, and facilities everywhere.
The final stop of our trip was Brazil’s tourist capital – Rio de Janeiro. We visited the Christ the Redeemer statue, with its breathtaking views of the city, then spent time on Copacabana Beach, enjoying the Atlantic Ocean.
Overall, our journey was amazing and very full! And most importantly – as comfortable as possible, considering how vast the geography of our route was. Thank you!
Once again, thank you!

Sincerely,
General Director
