Highlights of Your New Year Journey

Top Highlights

This South America New Year tour is built so that in one trip you live through several very different spaces. New Year in Brazil Argentina Chile is not a single dot on a map but a chain of impressions that follow one another: ocean, city, water, mountains. This 10 day South America New Year tour is a Brazil Argentina Chile New Year package and a three country New Year tour with New Year South America 10 days of unforgettable experiences. It answers the question of where to celebrate New Year in Latin America with a definitive answer: all three of these countries.

The journey begins with Rio on New Year’s Eve. The ocean right at the edge of the city, warm sand, and fireworks rising from the water. People in white make wishes, while Brazilian stars perform on stage.
You ascend Corcovado and Sugarloaf Mountain – and the city, once a scatter of neighborhoods, comes together as a whole: arcs of beaches, the bay, hills, dense urban fabric that suddenly makes sense from above.
Spending New Year in Rio and then at Iguazu is a transition from light and music to the roar of water. You come face to face with an ancient, powerful natural force, seen in all its grandeur. And each person experiences it in their own way – calming down and falling silent, rejoicing and marveling.
Iguazu from the Argentine side – step by step towards the water, closer than you could ever imagine. You walk along the walkways, approach the edge, feel the spray, and the boundary between spectator and natural wonder disappears.
An extra opportunity – to go on the Macuco Safari adventure. Here the boat goes under the cascades, and the water envelops you. The sound becomes all‑consuming, leaving you to fully surrender to the experience, so that when you emerge from under the waterfalls, you see the world in new colors.
Buenos Aires invites you to wander – walk through La Boca, turn into San Telmo, pause at antique shop windows. It is through these streets and facades that the true Buenos Aires reveals itself – reserved on the outside, rich and vibrant within.
Finally, you spend an evening in Buenos Aires – and on stage, they dance the tango. Here the pauses matter more than the steps, and the audience holds its breath, following every movement like a wordless conversation.
The finishing touch – Santiago, with its dry air, sharp light, and the Andes on the horizon. It doesn’t chase flashy effects, but generously rewards those who know how to look closely with its countless details. A perfect ending to the tour and a chance to take it all in, reflect, and once again savor everything you have experienced.

Three Countries in 10 Days: The Best of South America for New Year

Itinerary
Day 1 (Dec 30): Arrival in Rio de Janeiro
Arrival in Rio de Janeiro. Transfer to hotel. This is the start of your New Year in Rio and Iguazu and beyond adventure. Here the ocean is part of the city, as is the landscape, the mountains, and the hills. In normal days the city lives by the ocean. The wave splashes along Copacabana, the sand heats up by noon. Between the buildings you see strips of forest. Toward evening the light fades gradually: first the mountains darken, then the line of the shore lights up. On New Year's Eve the shore becomes a boundary. Underfoot: cool sand. Around you: people in white dress New Year Brazil and flowers. Flowers and candles dance on the waves. And from the very edge of the water, fireworks rise: light reflects in the water, the horizon disappears. Rio is extraordinary. Celebrating New Year Eve Rio de Janeiro here is the very best of Latin America.
Day 1 (Dec 30): Arrival in Rio de Janeiro -0
Day 2 (Dec 31): Christ the Redeemer and the Main Night, Meeting 2027 on Copacabana
The morning in Rio starts early and we head on excursion to the Christ the Redeemer statue. Transfer to the station, from where an open train climbs Corcovado. The ascent takes about 20 minutes. At the top: the Christ the Redeemer statue. An eternal landmark, a place of pilgrimage and quiet contemplation. From this point, Rio reads as a whole: the arc of Copacabana, the dark hills, the bay where ships stand at anchor.
Time to rest, and then the climax of the 10 day South America New Year tour: the celebration. By evening, Copacabana New Year fireworks and the New Year Copacabana beach celebration follow New Year in South America traditions that are unique in the world. and crowds gather on the beach. People in white clothes hold flowers. Small boats with offerings to the goddess Iemanja are sent out to sea, their lights trembling and slowly dissolving in the darkness. Then from the water itself the fireworks rise: light falls on the surface and the horizon disappears. This is the Copacabana New Year Eve party 2027 and the Rio New Year fireworks 2027. The Yemanja offering is one of the most beautiful New Year traditions in Brazil Argentina. If you wondered where to celebrate New Year in South America, on the shore in Rio you are at the very heart of the celebration.

*Optional: book a New Year's Eve dinner or party at one of the hotels on the Copacabana waterfront. Price on request.
Day 2 (Dec 31): Christ the Redeemer and the Main Night, Meeting 2027 on Copacabana -1
Day 3 (Jan 1): Sugarloaf Mountain New Year and Panoramas on New Year's Day
After breakfast we head to Sugarloaf Mountain New Year. We start from Red Beach, where the cable car rises almost from the water. First stop: Urca. You can already see the bays, slopes, and dense buildings along the shore. The wind from the ocean breaks the heat; it is pleasant to sit in the hilltop cafe with a refreshing drink looking at the city. The second cable car takes you higher, and all the dimensions of Rio open up. The arcs of the beaches and the ocean are especially clear from here. The beautiful Guanabara Bay, the bridge to the satellite city of Niteroi, and the Christ the Redeemer New Year statue on Corcovado. A wonderful way to take in the whole city. Then a city tour: we drive through the main spots of Rio, admire the colonial-style buildings. If time allows, a visit to the Cathedral of Sao Sebastiao and photos at the colorful Selaron Steps.

*Route may change due to New Year holiday crowds.
Day 3 (Jan 1): Sugarloaf Mountain New Year and Panoramas on New Year's Day -2
Day 4 (Jan 2): Flight to Iguazu Falls
We have finished the New Year in Rio and Buenos Aires is already waiting, but first: the waterfalls. Today you fly from Rio to Iguazu, the seventh wonder of the world. After breakfast we drive to the airport and fly to Iguazu. On arrival, transfer to the hotel.
After the night on Copacabana, the light and music, it is especially clear how the space changes. We move into Iguazu Falls New Year territory, the Iguazu National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Iguazu is not one waterfall but more than 270 streams stretched almost three kilometers. The roar drowns out conversation, the air becomes humid, and fine water dust settles on the skin. Natural force and beauty that are impossible not to surrender to. This is why we come to Iguazu Falls during New Year: to touch one of the wonders of the world. Is Iguazu Falls open on New Year? Yes, the national park is open and this is one of the best times to visit.
Day 4 (Jan 2): Flight to Iguazu Falls -3
Day 5 (Jan 3): The Power of Nature, Brazilian Side of the Falls (+ Optional Extras)
After breakfast we head to the Brazilian side of the waterfalls. This is the Iguazu Falls both sides experience starting with the Brazilian panorama. The trail runs along the canyon and first you hear the water, then it appears in all its power. More than 270 streams are visible one after another, falling from different heights. The Guarani Indians called this place Big Water. From the Brazilian side the full panorama opens: the entire line of cascades, almost three kilometers. The paths lead to points where the water is at eye level. Finally, you come to the largest stream, falling into the gorge of the Devil's Throat Iguazu. It drops as a solid wall, raising a cloud of spray. On a sunny day rainbows hang in the air.
Day 5 (Jan 3): The Power of Nature, Brazilian Side of the Falls (+ Optional Extras) -4
Optional Macuco Safari (USD 130 per person)*
Optional Macuco Safari: a remarkable journey

First you drive through dense jungle in a 4x4. Your guide tells you about the nature and animals of Iguazu National Park. Then at a viewing platform, you board a boat and head right under the waterfalls. The streams do not fall somewhere in the distance: they hang above you, hit the water beside the boat, and raise a dense curtain of spray. Clothes get soaked in seconds, the roar fills the whole world, and you navigate more by sensation than by sight. You enter the cloud of spray and for a moment lose yourself in it. A short but intense experience that stays with you. A recording of the whole journey can be ordered.
Optional Macuco Safari (USD 130 per person)* -5
Optional Iguazu Bird Park (USD 50 per person)*
Iguazu Bird Park: near the national park sits this wonderful corner with unique birds. You walk into the enclosures and the birds are in the same space as you: they fly overhead and land nearby on branches. The movement of birds is always captivating: light and precise. Here the movement comes with color: deep blue, scarlet, yellow, orange. The macaws, toucans, flamingos, and hummingbirds are not seen so much as caught by the eye like a rapid flash. You will remember not a zoo but a moment of contact: when a bird is closer than you expected, turns its head, looks directly into your eyes, and then takes flight.
Optional Iguazu Bird Park (USD 50 per person)* -6
Day 6 (Jan 4): Argentine Side of Iguazu and Flight to Buenos Aires
Breakfast and an early departure from the hotel. Today you visit the waterfalls again, this time from the Argentine side. Here during the excursion you come right up to the water. The route is made up of many points at different heights. The Lower Circuit descends almost to the base: the water falls right beside you, the sound becomes dense and continuous. The most interesting cascades here: Alvar Nunez, Elenita, Lanusse, and Bosetti. The Upper Circuit takes you to the very edge: you can see how the streams gather, pause for a moment, and go over. The most expressive waterfalls at this level: Adam and Eve. The climax is the Devil's Throat Iguazu: a long bridge over the water leads you to close range view of the stream falling from 82 meters into a narrow canyon. So close that you freeze, balancing between fear and wonder. After the excursion, transfer to the airport and flight to Buenos Aires. On arrival, transfer to the hotel.
Day 6 (Jan 4): Argentine Side of Iguazu and Flight to Buenos Aires -7
Day 7 (Jan 5): Buenos Aires, City Tour and Evening Tango Show with Dinner
Morning: introduction to the capital of Argentina. Buenos Aires New Year in the days after the celebration: wide avenues, facades with French lines, green parks. Buenos Aires is compared to Paris for good reason.
We see the memorial obelisk, walk through La Boca New Year neighborhood with its bright houses, and visit San Telmo with low buildings, old signs, and many cafes. At Plaza Dorrego you can look at antiques. We drive past Plaza de Mayo and your guide tells you about Casa Rosada, from whose balcony Evita Peron once spoke. We also visit Recoleta cemetery. In the evening: the tango show Buenos Aires. A Buenos Aires New Year that comes around again: the music holds its tension, the partners move very close together, barely lifting their gaze from each other, and every movement is a conversation without words. You can order fine Argentine steak and Malbec wine with dinner.
Day 7 (Jan 5): Buenos Aires, City Tour and Evening Tango Show with Dinner -8
Day 8 (Jan 6): Flight to Santiago, Chile
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport and flight to Santiago de Chile, the capital of Chile. A driver meets you at the airport and takes you to the hotel.
Santiago de Chile New Year arrivals are greeted by dry, clear air, sharp light, and the line of the Andes on the horizon, visible from almost anywhere in the city. The weather in Chile in January is warm and stable: sunny during the day, pleasantly cool toward the evening. Santiago does not try to impress immediately. It opens up gradually: a strict center, modern neighborhoods, wide streets, and calmer movement than Buenos Aires. When you start noticing the details: light on the facades, the shadow of the trees, the cold air from the mountains toward evening, you have stopped being just a visitor and tuned in to the city.
Day 8 (Jan 6): Flight to Santiago, Chile -9
Day 9 (Jan 7): Santiago City Tour, From La Moneda to Modern Neighborhoods (+ Optional Wine Tour)
Breakfast at the hotel. A Santiago city tour begins in the center. La Moneda Palace: strict, bright, once a mint, today the presidential residence. Then Plaza de Armas Santiago, the central square: the Cathedral, the post office building, the City Hall, and the former Royal Audience building. All key sights of Santiago de Chile gathered in one place. Then we climb Santa Lucia Hill Santiago for a view of the capital from above. Below: a dense grid of streets, straight lines of blocks. Further: the strip of the old center with domes, towers, and light stone. The Mapocho River passes through the city like a dividing line, and beyond it the modern neighborhoods rise. Behind everything: the Andes. Looking from here, you understand that the strength of Santiago is in its restraint. The longer you look, the more you see. Finally, we walk through the modern neighborhoods of Vitacura, Las Condes, and Providencia, and down to the Mapocho River.

*Optional wine tour: excursion to the Maipo Valley wine tasting vineyards with a wine tour Chile and tasting. USD 230 per person (minimum 2 people).
Day 9 (Jan 7): Santiago City Tour, From La Moneda to Modern Neighborhoods (+ Optional Wine Tour) -10
Day 10 (Jan 8): Departure from Santiago
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport for the flight home. The journey ends but stays with you in simple things: in the way you now look at a city, at water, at the distance between two points. You already know what the ocean whispers at night, what the waterfalls at Iguazu shout, how from a height streets and houses come together into a complete picture. The route is done, but inside remains the feeling that the world has become bigger and at the same time closer.

Buenas noches Viera.
REVIEW №8- Marina Ryzhuk
Pavel, good afternoon!
My name is Marina Ryzhuk. A few weeks ago, our VIP group from St. Petersburg visited Rio with you. I believe you remember them well.
I’d like to thank you for your excellent work with our rather demanding guests. After the trip, they spoke very highly of your services. Our particularly important gentlemen especially appreciated your personal approach — you managed to find a special way to connect with them.
Through your tours, they were able to truly feel the city, which is absolutely priceless on such trips.
Thank you!

Anna, thank you very much on behalf of our tourists, the Chubar family, who visited in February.
They praised your excellent and well-organized work and were very pleased!
They said everything was as precise as with the Germans :)
REVIEW №11- Mikhail and Elena Leksikov
Good afternoon, we were in Rio de Janeiro March 15–17, 2020. Not for long, but it was very full of experiences.
The driver who met us at the airport, to our joy, spoke English and even a little Russian. He pointed out where we could walk and eat.
The next day we met Eleonora, a GUIDE and a Person with a capital P. We were lucky to visit Corcovado and see Brazil’s main symbol. Unfortunately, we couldn’t make it to Sugarloaf Mountain due to the coronavirus quarantine.
Instead of the canceled excursion, Eleonora gave us an impromptu city tour. She tells stories in an interesting way, knows a lot, but doesn’t overwhelm with facts, shows where the best photo spots are, and even took pictures herself. Thanks to her, we managed to get coffee and souvenirs—it turned out not so easy to find what we wanted.
She was very caring and concerned for us—even after we went to Búzios, she kept checking how we were, suggesting where to go and what to see and buy.

A very close-knit, friendly team, always ready to help.
REVIEW №12- Nikita, Saga Tour Operator
Good afternoon, Alexandra!
Thank you very much for the organization and support.
The tourist was very happy and said everything was top-notch :)
Paraty is definitely a place to recommend—it leaves no one indifferent. Porto Real is probably in the best spot on that coast.

Thank you!
Wishing you success in everything!

REVIEW №14- Nassir and Sholpan
Alexandra!
Our clients have returned, very satisfied.
They left a special review about the guide in Quito:
In Quito, we had a wonderful guide named David.
During our three-day visit to Quito, your guide David was with us. He made our stay in Quito rich, interesting, and unforgettable. Not only does he know a lot about the city, the country, and its nature, he is also a truly interesting person himself. Our three days were filled with conversations about everything. Our knowledge of Ecuador is now practically encyclopedic—we learned so much. And the most important part was that it all happened through engaging discussions.
We’d like to highlight his punctuality, his thoughtfulness, and his attention to detail. His advice on restaurants and places to walk during our free time was invaluable. We’ve met many guides—this is the 103rd country we’ve visited. We don’t always get so lucky with a guide, but David was exceptional. Thank you to him and to all of you!!!

THANK YOU FOR THE EXCELLENT ORGANIZATION.
REVIEW №15- Elena and Evgeny

Our escorts checked us in for the domestic flights and stayed with us right up until passport control!

REVIEW №31- Adam M.
A poem dedicated to the Ada Tours guide!
In Rio, where sunlight meets golden skies,
Our guide Paulo greets us with kind, warm eyes.
He knows the whole city, where secrets lie deep,
And welcomes each guest with joy that’s sincere.
“Come on,” he says, “to Corcovado,
Christ calls you up to heaven’s shadow.
Then on to the beach, where waves beat the shore,
Copacabana invites us once more.”

Paulo will show us where samba resides,
Where Brazil’s true heartbeat endlessly thrives.
In favelas he sees not poverty, but life,
Where sparks of hope conquer struggle and strife.

With a smile, he leads us along every way,
Paulo’s our friend, our golden pathway.
A Brazilian guide, a master of wonder,
With him, Rio feels closer to heaven’s splendor.

This poem is from me, for you.

REVIEW №33- Ekaterina Dumbravanu
Good afternoon, Alexandra.
I want to thank you for organizing our vacation.
Our guides were simply outstanding – top class.
Pavel knows so much about Brazil and Rio in particular. He’s very easy to talk to, communicates effortlessly with people, is always learning something new, and gladly shares his knowledge. An excellent guide and a wonderful person.
And Tiago – we spent two days with him. He’s amazing. Even after 18 years of work, he hasn’t lost the ability to genuinely admire the beauty of the waterfalls. He still takes photos like it’s the first time.
With your guides, it’s never boring! Thank you once again!!!
REVIEW №34- Tatyana Yakubova
Hello, Alexandra.
I am sending you the full version of the tourists’ feedback:
We are publishing our review after our trip through Argentina–Uruguay–Brazil with my wife. It is always a pleasure to share emotions when they are entirely positive! We want to thank the entire Ada Tours team who helped us organize the perfect journey. From the very idea of the trip to its completion, you were always in touch with us, tailoring excursions and building the itinerary based on our requests, while also giving valuable advice and making all necessary adjustments. Everything exceeded our already high expectations – the trip was very rich and exciting! We recommend this route to everyone, especially when its organization can be entrusted to professionals☺️
We would especially like to thank you for selecting wonderful guides and drivers. At every stage, everything went like clockwork – we never missed a single thing, and the drivers were always extremely polite and pleasant.
Our journey began in Buenos Aires with a city tour. We visited the main square – Plaza de Mayo, cathedrals, and saw key architectural monuments from the Spanish colonial period, as well as the modern financial center. We explored the vibrant and colorful La Boca district and the main city ports. We were lucky with the weather, and the tour was fascinating. The guide advised us to visit several additional places, and we chose the Recoleta Cemetery, where many of Argentina’s most famous figures are buried. After the tour, we asked to be dropped off near the entrance and bought tickets. The only issue we faced was that we couldn’t pay in cash, but other visitors kindly helped us with the payment. The cemetery left a strong impression on us – we would definitely recommend it as a must-visit.
In the evening, we went to a tango show that exceeded all expectations. We watched authentic Argentine tango performed to live music, enjoyed Argentine wine, and saw other artists showcasing traditional instruments. The show was incredible and allowed us to truly experience the local culture.
The next morning we traveled by ferry to Montevideo. The journey was very comfortable; we would only recommend bringing snacks and an extra layer of clothing, as despite the heat, the ferry was air-conditioned and quite cool inside. We loved the city itself – we managed to see all the main sights and stroll along the coast. Midway through the tour, a wonderful lunch was arranged for us, followed by a light meal at the hotel.
After Montevideo, we continued as planned to Patagonia, where we spent just under three days. This place amazed us – it’s like nowhere else on Earth. From our hotel, we could see the vast Lake Argentino with its turquoise waters (sometimes flamingos can be seen there, though unfortunately we didn’t). The scenery of the Patagonian steppe and mountains will remain in our hearts for a long time. We took an excursion to the Perito Moreno Glacier – a unique wonder, truly beyond words. Probably the most powerful impression of the whole trip came from this glacier and the national park. It’s something everyone should witness with their own eyes.
After our mini-journey in Patagonia, we went on to Iguassu Falls, viewing them from both the Argentine and Brazilian sides. The sight was utterly unique and magical! Jungle, soaring eagles, butterflies, monkeys, and an endless chain of waterfalls stretching beyond sight. The park’s trails are very well maintained, with rest areas to escape the heat and humidity, and facilities everywhere.
The final stop of our trip was Brazil’s tourist capital – Rio de Janeiro. We visited the Christ the Redeemer statue, with its breathtaking views of the city, then spent time on Copacabana Beach, enjoying the Atlantic Ocean.
Overall, our journey was amazing and very full! And most importantly – as comfortable as possible, considering how vast the geography of our route was. Thank you!
Once again, thank you!
