After breakfast, a private transfer will drive you to your hotel in Bayahibe. On the way you will stop at the cave system "Cueva de las Maravillas" and visit the impressive cave and its rock formations. After breakfast, a guided tour in thrilling safari trucks awaits you along the sugar cane fields of the region. Here you will learn how sugarcane is used to produce the world-famous Dominican rum. After a short horse riding trip you will visit a typical Dominican family house, where you will taste some fresh fruits, coffee and chocolate. Afterwards, you will enjoy a typical Dominican lunch buffet before visiting a local school. Finally, visit the "Basilica de Higüey", the most important religious building in the east of the Dominican Republic. In the late afternoon you will head back to the hotel. Today you will make a trip to Monkeyland. On the way there, you will stop at the coconut house "Casa del Coco". Here you can learn a lot about the production of coconut oil and taste the delicious fruit. Other fruits, coffee and chocolate are also available. Afterwards you will reach Monkeyland full of squirrel monkeys living in nature. Together with a guide you spend about 45 minutes with the monkeys in an open natural landscape. During this time you can feed the animals and take pictures with them. In the afternoon you will head back to the hotel.
