You will start your day with a welcome meeting at our office in the Colonial Zone of Santo Domingo (2 minutes walking distance from your hotel). While you enjoy a freshly prepared tropical welcome drink we will give you some important information about your upcoming trip. After this, you will get to know the oldest city of the New World. The capital of the Dominican Republic combines the modern advantages of an emerging economy with the historic center of the city "La Zona Colonial" making this a very special place. During a 2-hours guided walking tour through "La Zona Colonial", you will follow in Columbus’s footsteps and see (among other things) the oldest cathedral of the New World, castles, ruins and the residency of Columbus's son, Don Diego. You will also visit a cigar manufacturer, where you will see the production of the popular Dominican cigars. The tour will end at the historic 4D-cinema, a highlight for you and your kids! During the late afternoon you will visit the chocolate museum in the Zona Colonial. Here you will learn a lot about the cacao plant and its application in chocolate and beauty products. After breakfast, a private transfer will drive you to your hotel in Bayahibe. On the way you will stop at the cave system "Cueva de las Maravillas" and visit the impressive cave and its rock formations. Afterwards you will arrive at your all-inclusive resort Dreams Dominicus La Romana*****. After breakfast, a guided tour in thrilling safari trucks awaits you along the sugar cane fields of the region. Here you will learn how sugarcane is used to produce the world-famous Dominican rum. After a short horse riding trip you will visit a typical Dominican family house, where you will taste some fresh fruits, coffee and chocolate. Afterwards, you will enjoy a typical Dominican lunch buffet before visiting a local school. Finally, visit the "Basilica de Higüey", the most important religious building in the east of the Dominican Republic. In the late afternoon you will head back to the hotel. Today you will make a trip to Monkeyland. On the way there, you will stop at the coconut house "Casa del Coco". Here you can learn a lot about the production of coconut oil and taste the delicious fruit. Other fruits, coffee and chocolate are also available. Afterwards you will reach Monkeyland full of squirrel monkeys living in nature. Together with a guide you spend about 45 minutes with the monkeys in an open natural landscape. During this time you can feed the animals and take pictures with them. In the afternoon you will head back to the hotel. Today you will get to know the Island of Saona and its surroundings. By speedboat you will visit the famous sights of the island, such as the natural swimming pool or the great beaches. But you will also visit less explored places, such as Mano Juan, the only village on the island, or Canto de la Playa. You will have a great day on this paradisiacal island, where you have the chance to discover many places that the usual "party tours" to Isla Saona do not offer. There is also the church where Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley once said yes to each other and an archaeological museum with treasures from the Taino period. Afterwards you can do a boat tour with a small Mississippi steamer on the river ''Rio Chavón'', here you can see amazing cliffs with tropical flora, where also numerous films like Jurassic Parc or Rambo were shot.
