Day 4: Rio de Janeiro – Foz do Iguacu
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Foz do Iguacu. Arrival at Foz do Iguacu airport. Meeting at the airport and transfer to the hotel.
You are in for a rich excursion program. You are heading to the Brazilian side of the Iguazu Falls, which border the canyon of the Iguazu River. To say that this magnificent sight is breathtaking would not even begin to capture the emotions you will experience. The waterfalls are located within a national park with unique flora and fauna. They were formed as a result of volcanic eruptions and the shifting of tectonic plates. The name of the falls, translated from Guarani, means "big water." 275 waterfalls, each with its own name, merge into one, thundering into the "Devil's Throat" gorge. The spectacle of water spray surrounded by a rainbow spectrum is simply mesmerizing. On the way to the most powerful waterfall named "Devil's Throat," you will see many smaller waterfalls. The rainbow mists of billions of falling droplets and magnificent landscapes evoke unparalleled delight.
Today, you have two more excursions awaiting you - the Bird Park and the Macuco Safari.
The Bird Park is located near the Iguazu National Park. You will enter huge aviaries where amidst tropical forests, amazing, fairy-tale birds of exotic colors freely fly or stroll.
Next, you will embark on the "Macuco Safari" journey - through the jungle, you will ride in an open jeep for about 3 kilometers, accompanied by a guide who will tell you many interesting facts about the region's ecology. Then, you will walk to the banks of the Iguazu River, from where a motorboat will take you close to the waterfalls. You can expect splashes and rainbows, a sea of delight, and unique photographs.
