Brazil Tour: Rio, Iguazu Falls & Historic Coffee Farms

Day 1: Arrival in Rio de Janeiro, Welcome to the Marvelous City

We meet you at Rio de Janeiro airport and take you to the hotel. This Brazil package experience begins immediately: you breathe the salty air and see yourself on one of the beaches, in a cozy cafe serving drinks made from fresh tropical fruit. The Brazil itinerary will be packed, so first you rest and then we tackle Sugarloaf Mountain. We start from Red Beach, first stop: Urca Hill with cafes, bars, and a breathtaking panorama. Second stop: the summit of Sugarloaf. Rio is spread out before you: black and white Copacabana beach, romantic Ipanema beach, the incredible Guanabara Bay, the Niteroi bridge, and the Christ statue on Corcovado. In the evening we drive through the sights of Rio and admire its architecture. If time allows, we visit the Cathedral of Sao Sebastiao and take photos at the colorful Selaron Steps in the Santa Teresa neighborhood.

Day 2: Rio de Janeiro, Historic Center and Christ the Redeemer

Today we visit the symbol of Rio, the statue of Christ the Redeemer on Corcovado. But first, a tour of the historic center of Rio. Rio is rich in buildings in the finest European styles: the 18th-century Candelaria church, the Sao Bento monastery, and the Municipal Theatre, a copy of the Paris Opera. At Novembro Square: the Carmelite monastery, the Tiradentes Palace, and the Imperial Palace, from whose balcony Brazil learned of the abolition of slavery. The jewel of the route is the Rio Cathedral, which holds up to 20,000 people.
Then we board the train that climbs through tropical forests to the 38-meter Christ the Redeemer tour statue on Corcovado mountain. Since 1931, the year the monument was opened and consecrated, almost every visitor to Brazil has come here. And rightly so: the panorama from the summit impresses even the most experienced travelers.

Day 3: Rio de Janeiro, Free Day or Optional Excursions

Free time for new discoveries, meeting people, relaxing, or optional excursions. Today you can walk along the ocean, stop at a street cafe, and catch the rhythm of the city. In Rio de Janeiro the beaches are endless strips of golden sand and a special feeling of freedom.

Optional Rio by Night (extra charge): When the lights come on, Rio transforms. Streets fill with music, laughter, and hot dances. In the evening we head with a guide to a mulata show, the most famous show in Rio with samba, capoeira, and other Latin American dances. Colors, feathers, and sequins flash on stage, and the dancers in spectacular costumes infect the whole hall with their passion. A real carnival of emotions. Duration: 4 hours.

Optional Boat Tour on Guanabara Bay (extra charge)*

We set off on a sea journey across Guanabara Bay, the famous bay of Rio. The boat leaves from the Marina da Gloria port and the city immediately opens from a new angle: fresh sea breeze, blue water, and panoramas impossible to see from land. We sail past the neighborhoods of Botafogo, Flamengo, and Urca, past tropical islands and mountain slopes where the favelas sit. On the horizon Sugarloaf rises, and you see the Rio-Niteroi bridge, Fort Sao Joao, the 16th-century Castelo de Santa Cruz, and the Museum of Modern Art designed by Oscar Niemeyer. Transfers included. Duration: 4 hours.

Optional Helicopter ride Rio (extra charge)*

Helicopter ride Rio - one of the most spectacular ways to see the city. The moment you leave the ground, an endless blue ocean, white beaches, green mountains, bays with yachts, and the dazzling white houses of Rio open up below you. From above you can clearly see how nature and the city interweave: green neighborhoods gradually become beaches, Copacabana curves along the shore, rocks rise straight out of the bay water, and the ocean shimmers in every shade of blue and green. Choose a short 6-minute overview flight or extend to 13 minutes to take in all of Rio.

Optional Botanical Garden (extra charge)*

Founded by order of Prince Regent, the future King Joao VI, to acclimatize exotic plants and spices, and later developed by the outstanding Brazilian botanist Joao Barboza Rodrigues, the Botanical Garden is a true tropical oasis. Today the park has around 6,000 species of tropical and subtropical plants: avenues of majestic palms, rare trees and shrubs, mirror lakes, fountains, and quiet corners where you want to stop and simply admire nature. The pride of the garden includes the giant Victoria regia water lilies, delicate orchids of every color, and the Pau-brasil tree, which legend says gave the country its name.

Optional Favela Tour (extra charge): Rocinha (Rocinha) Favela*

The favelas are the most contrasting and unusual neighborhood in Rio, where you see another side of the city. Their history begins at the end of the 19th century after the Canudos War in the state of Bahia. Soldiers who returned to Rio and did not receive the promised housing settled on Providencia Hill, covered in the favela shrub, which gave the first settlements their name. Over time whole neighborhoods with their own life and unwritten rules grew on the slopes. Excursions take place only with local guides who know the neighborhood and its people. The tour is in Rocinha, one of the largest favelas, located on the mountain slopes between the upscale neighborhoods of the city. During the walk you hear real stories, see narrow streets and bright houses, and feel the atmosphere of alive, authentic Rio far from the tourist routes.

Optional Lapa Nightlife (extra charge)*

Lapa is a historic neighborhood known for its 18th-century arched aqueduct and vibrant cultural life. During the day it is a quiet quarter with old buildings, but at dusk it becomes the main stage of Rio's night. Streets fill with music, lights, and people from all over the world. Bars, cafes, and clubs open their doors to samba, bossa nova, forro, and ethno rhythms. An evening in Lapa means dancing, live music, and the famous caipirinha cocktail made from cachaca, lime, cane sugar, and ice. Easy to make new friends here, immersed in the freedom and rhythm of a Brazilian night.

Day 4: Rio de Janeiro to Iguazu, The Brazilian Side of the Falls

The Guarani Indians called this place Big Water: "i" (water) and "uasu" (big), because around 275 streams plunge into the canyon here. Today you fly from Rio to one of the Wonders of the World, Iguazu Falls tours. After breakfast we drive to the airport and fly south to Brazil. On arrival we check into the hotel and head to the Brazilian side of the falls at the canyon of the river right on the border with Argentina. Already from a distance the powerful roar of the water is audible, the ground underfoot vibrates, and at the viewing platforms the emotions are overwhelming. Numerous islands along the 2.7-kilometer edge divide the falls into separate cascades. About half of the stream crashes into a long, narrow gorge called the Devil's Throat. The streams falling into it form a dense cloud of water dust that rises high above the canyon and creates bright rainbows. After filling up on impressions and photos, we return to the hotel on the Brazilian side.

Optional Rafain Show (extra charge)*

Rafain Grill Place is a large restaurant with a festive atmosphere. It impresses with its variety of dishes: a rich buffet with juicy beef and pork, vegetables, fruit, and desserts prepared in the best Brazilian traditions. After dinner, a bright show with dancing and singing turns the visit into a real performance. Vivid costumes, beautiful voices, and music that makes your heart beat faster: a full immersion in the magic of South America.

Optional Macuco Safari (extra charge)*

A real adventure Macuco Safari through Iguazu National Park. The tour starts with a jeep ride through dense tropical jungle. Along the way the guide tells you about the flora and fauna of the park, its ecosystem, and the hidden life of the forest. Then a short walk on foot, and a boat awaits at a viewing platform, taking you right up to the falls. Rushing streams roar around you, clouds of spray rise, and green hills and tropical forest frame this grand scene. Sometimes the boat comes so close to the falls that the spray drenches you completely. You can order a recording of your whole journey on a disc.

Optional Iguazu Bird Park (extra charge)*

Near Iguazu National Park, just minutes from the falls, sits this wonderful Bird Park. A true tropical oasis where hundreds of colorful birds from around the world live among dense forest greenery. The exotic park covers about 4 hectares of pristine forest. You enter enormous enclosures where birds do not sit in cages but fly freely right overhead, from branch to branch, and come very close. Giant toucans with bright orange beaks, emerald parrots, scarlet ibises: you feel as if you are inside a living tropical postcard. More than 500 bird species can be seen here, and some you can even feed. Besides birds, caimans, monkeys, and other animals live in the park.

Day 5: Iguazu Falls, The Argentine Side and the Devil's Throat

Early in the morning we head to Iguazu National Park on the Iguazu Argentine side. Three routes to choose from.
* Lower Circuit (1,700 m, about 1h 45min, medium level): You see the Alvar Nunez, Elenita, and Lanusse cascades and the Bosetti waterfall falling as a solid wall.
*Upper Circuit (1,300 m, about 1 hour, easy): You see the water coming to the edge and then rising as a wall of water right beside you. The most beautiful waterfalls here are Adam and Eve.
*Devil's Throat (1,000 m, 1 to 1.5 hours, medium): The climax waterfall. The stream falls from 82 meters and crashes powerfully into a narrow canyon. The paths come right to the edge and you watch the birth of a natural wonder.

Day 6: Iguazu to Rio de Janeiro, Return and Free Time

Transfer to the airport for the flight back to Rio de Janeiro. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Free time to rest, explore, or revisit favourite spots in this Brazil vacation packages experience or spend it on a beach holiday.

Day 7: Day Trip to the Coffee Valley, Plantation Tour and Tasting

Today we head to the Coffee Valley Brazil (transfer about 3 hours). Among the hills here sit the old fazendas of the coffee barons, the estates where the wealth of Brazil was created in the 19th century. We visit one of the Historic coffee fazendas that has preserved the atmosphere of that era. You see the old buildings and working quarters, learn how different varieties of Coffee plantations Brazil were grown and processed, and hear about the history of the plantations and the lives of their owners.
These places are also connected to the history of the famous TV series Slave Isaura, which was filmed at one of these fazendas. This is a true Brazil coffee tour and Coffee farm tour Brazil experience with a walk through the grounds of the fazenda, the silence of green hills, the smell of sun-warmed earth, and the aroma of real Brazilian coffee. Day 8: Rio de Janeiro, Departure with Memories

After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport for the flight home. Не зашла Амазонка - наигранные гиды, нет животных. Видимо, нужно ехать глубже уже.

Me quede muy impresionado de la cultura Inca y la visita al Machu Picchu era una experiencia espiritual elevadora. El viaje de Arequipa a Nasca de 10 horas por bus era agotador. Llegue dormido a Nasca y me tuvieron que departar. Comprendo que para poder ver a el condor y también volar sobra el desierto de Nasca este viaje fue la mejor opción.
Los hoteles fueron perfectos. Mi favorita fue lq Britania Crystal Miraflores. Yo le daría 4.5 *. Yo recomendaria este tour a qualquiera que quira hacer el tour como yo lo hice. Espero que con las conecciones aerias directas proramadas entre Curacao i Lima ( comensando el fin de año) y con el nuevo aeropuerto international en Cusco en algunos años el turismo desde Curacao sea mas grande.

Good afternoon, we were in Rio de Janeiro March 15–17, 2020. Not for long, but it was very full of experiences.
The driver who met us at the airport, to our joy, spoke English and even a little Russian. He pointed out where we could walk and eat.
The next day we met Eleonora, a GUIDE and a Person with a capital P. We were lucky to visit Corcovado and see Brazil’s main symbol. Unfortunately, we couldn’t make it to Sugarloaf Mountain due to the coronavirus quarantine.
Instead of the canceled excursion, Eleonora gave us an impromptu city tour. She tells stories in an interesting way, knows a lot, but doesn’t overwhelm with facts, shows where the best photo spots are, and even took pictures herself. Thanks to her, we managed to get coffee and souvenirs—it turned out not so easy to find what we wanted.
She was very caring and concerned for us—even after we went to Búzios, she kept checking how we were, suggesting where to go and what to see and buy.
