Day 2: Santiago
After breakfast - a city tour. The tour begins in the city center with a visit to La Moneda, the government building square, recognized as a historical monument. It was built in 1799, in the last years of Spanish rule, to house the royal mint, and is done in the traditional neoclassical style. In the mid-19th century, the building was allocated for the government of Chile, and since then, La Moneda Palace has been the residence of the country's government. The journey will then lead to Plaza de Armas - the central square of Santiago. The city's history began here. The square is home to the Governor's House of Chile, the Municipality of Santiago, the Main Post Office, the Royal Audiencia Building, and the Cathedral. Then, you will climb San Cristobal Hill to the statue of the Holy Virgin Mary, offering a magnificent panorama of the entire city. Next, a visit to the modern districts of Santiago: Vitacura, Las Condes, and Providencia, a drive along the Mapocho River, and an introduction to the majestic architecture of Santiago's main avenues.
