Day 3: Mexico City – Puebla (130 km) – Oaxaca (345 km)
According to legend, angels revealed to a bishop the site where the future city should be built. The road to the “City of Angels” offers spectacular views, guarded by two active volcanoes — Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl, whose snow-covered peaks rise high into the sky. The city will amaze you with its beautiful colonial architecture, including such UNESCO-protected monuments as the Rosary Chapel, the Santo Domingo Monastery, and the Cathedral. Churches and houses decorated with Talavera ceramic tiles, along with the landscapes of surrounding mountains and volcanoes, make this city a dream for lovers of photography and historical architecture. And if your passion is cuisine, the “gastronomic capital of Mexico” will not disappoint. Be sure to try mole poblano, combining the incomparable taste of chocolate and chili peppers, as well as the famous stuffed peppers chiles en nogada. We then continue to Oaxaca. The road offers breathtaking views of mountains covered with giant cacti (you’ll have a chance to stop and take photos of these exotic plants). In Oaxaca, enjoy an evening stroll through the city, known for its colonial architecture, museums, churches, and abundant handicrafts made of textiles, ceramics, wood, and metal. Accommodation in a 4* hotel.
