After breakfast, a Sugarloaf Mountain tour in Rio (4 hrs) with a stop at Urca. From the cable car cabin, you'll want to look in every direction: Copacabana curves below, and Christ the Redeemer is visible in the distance. At the top, linger by the railing - so much ocean, so much open space!Then you'll stroll through the old center, seeing colonial facades, churches, monasteries, and the main cathedral.Before the evening, rest at your hotel. The Carnival finale lies ahead!A transfer takes you to the Rio Sambadrome, where the drums pound so hard they hum in your chest. It's hard to stay seated during the Samba School Parade in Rio: you jump up, clap, and follow the floats and dancers in shimmering costumes with your eyes. You want to study every headdress, every piece of embroidery, but the next float is already moving past! Under the spotlights, feathers and thousands of sequins shimmer, and the fans' singing rises above the stands. At some point, you catch a familiar chorus and sing along with everyone - a night like this was worth flying across the ocean for!After the parade, you'll be taken back to your hotel.
