Day 1: La Paz

Arrival to La Paz and pick up from the airport and transfer to the hotel.
Accommodation at the Hotel in La Paz & Overnight.

Day 2: La Paz – Sun Island – La Paz

Breakfast at the hotel.
Pick up from the hotel in La Paz and transfer to the bus station to board the tourist bus until Copacabana (3,810 masl). This trip takes 3 hours and a half approx. On route, we will cross the strait of Tiquina by motor boat (20 minutes). It is the narrowest portion of the lake dividing the minor lake (Wiñaymaka) and major lake (Chucuito). Arrival to Copacabana and we will walk to the port in order to board on a speed boat (50 minutes) until Sun Island where we will visit Pilcokaina Palace and enjoy a nice lunch that is called Apthapi, it is prepared with: potato, dried-potato, broad bean, husked wheat, cold cheese, banana, boiled or fried egg and others. To then have a panoramic walk to the Community of Yumani where we will visit the famous Inca Garden, Sacred Fountain of Incas and Yumani Stairway. Then, we will return to Copacabana. Arrival to Copacabana and visit the Catholic Church and Local Market. We will continue to La Paz and transfer to the hotel.
Included: Tourist Shared Transportation (Bus), English-speaking guide, entrance´s fee, fast boat & typical lunch.
Duration: Full Day
Timetable: 07:00 am. (Subject to confirmation).
* Challa Time: Before starting the sailing trip from Copacabana to Sun Island and vice-versa make a traditional “challa” for the mother-earth with a sweet cup of wine.

Day 3: La Paz – Uyuni – Colchani

Breakfast at the Hotel.
Pick up from the hotel and transfer privately to the airport.

Duration: 45 minutes – 1 hour
Pick up from the Airport in Uyuni and private transfer to our office in the city.
Included: Private transport.
Duration: 15 minutes approx.
Pick up time: According to confirmation by the costumer
Pick up and visit the Train Cemetery (old locomotives from 1899 with wagons that transported Bolivian minerals to Chilean ports and are now part of an industrial past). Transfer to the town of Colchani located on the banks of the Salar to observe the elaboration of iodized salt in its local rustic form, learn the activity of salt extraction and visit a small local museum. Entrance to the beautiful and majestic Salt Desert and visit of its surroundings where the interesting Salt Blocks, Ojos de Agua Salada and the First Salt Hotel in the world (now a museum) are located.
In the afternoon, tasting a typical lunch on the shores of the beautiful Incahuasi Island (located in the middle of the salt desert), an island where there are a large number of giant cacti that can reach more than 10 meters in height and where there will be a 45-minute walk approx. to observe from its summit the salt flat in its splendor from an approximate height of 3822 meters above sea level. Continuing the tour, we will head north to view the Beautiful Tunupa Volcano and visit the mysterious Chikini Cavern, where we will appreciate an immense image of petrified cobwebs. Finally, panoramic and photographic visit of the Salar and transfer to the Hotel.

* Sunset Time: with basic snack included (sunset may vary depending the season between 18:00 to 19:00).

* Chiquini Cavern: Geological unusual visited place to visit during the Dry Season.

Important notes:
Rainy Season: It`s not possible to visit Incahuasi Island and Town of Coquesa (Chiquini Cavern)
4x4 truck capacity: We recommend maximum 4 people per truck to be comfortable

Day 4: Colchani - Desert

Breakfast at the hotel.
07:30 Pick up from the hotel and transfer to the town of San Cristobal to visit and learn about the history of this small mining town. Transfer to the viewpoint of the active Ollagüe Volcano and panoramic visit of the highland lagoons of Kañapa, Hedionda, Chiarcota and Honda (these lagoons are populated by pink flamingos). At noon, we will have lunch and, in the afternoon, we will continue our journey to the Siloli desert, en route we will visit a beautiful ravine with some wild plants such as Yareta (formerly used by pre-Hispanic cultures as fuel). Transfer to the Hotel del Desierto.

Duration: 10 Hours approx.
Pick up time: 07:30am.

Note! Route may vary according to the Hotel booked. Siloli Desert and Tree Stone not visited this day in case of Jardines de Mallku Cueva option.

Day 5: Desert – Uyuni – Colchani

Breakfast at the hotel.
06:30 Pick up from the Hotel and en route we will visit the Siloli Desert next to the Stone Tree and the beautiful Laguna Colorada, where you can see the beautiful pink flamingos with their spectacular flight. Visit of the Sol de Mañana Geysers (underground fumaroles product of the volcanic activity in the place), continuation to the Polques Hot Springs, where we can refresh ourselves in its natural-medicinal waters and appreciate the landscape of the place. Tasting of typical lunch and tour of the beautiful Dalí Desert with its beautiful lagoons: Green and White. Return to Uyuni through the Valley of the Rocks and the Church of San Cristóbal. Transfer to the airport of Uyuni.

Duration: 12 Hours approx.
Pick up time: 06:30am.

Day 6: Colchani – Uyuni – La Paz

Breakfast at the hotel.
Pick up from the hotel and transfer to the airport.
Includes: Private transport.
Duration: 30 minutes (depending on the location of the hotel)
Recommended Flight:
Uyuni – La Paz (vía Cochabamba) – Wednesdays, Fridays or Sundays.

Pick up from the airport and transfer to the Hotel.

Duration: 45 minutes – 1 hour
Pick up from the hotel to start with the visit to the traditional markets of the city of La Paz, panoramic visit of the San Pedro prison (famous for its infrastructure and constitution unlike other prisons); use the longest cable car system in the world and visit the famous Valley of the Moon, located 10km away from the center of the City of La Paz (with curious clay formations, created by the erosion of winds and heavy rains; named after the famous astronaut Neil Armstrong). Then, we will move to the Killi Killi Viewpoint, crossing the residential area of La Paz and the highest Soccer Stadium in
the world, from where you can have a spectacular 360 ° view of the city of La Paz. Later we will visit the historic center of the city where we can see the Plaza Murillo, Legislative Palace and the Metropolitan Cathedral. Finally, we will visit the Mercado de Las Brujas (understanding mystical aspects of Andean rituals and thought). Return to the Hotel.

Pick up from the hotel and transfer to the airport to board the flight to La Paz city. Our bilingual representative will assist to you.

Hi Anna, thank you for the update on the glasses. I’ll wait and see what happens! Alan and I are now back in the UK. We loved our trip to the Pantanal and Bonito. Our guide, Alessandra was brilliant with lots of knowledge and very considerate and helpful. The only hitch we had was on our flight back to Rio because the second leg of the trip was cancelled and we were rescheduled to a later plane and our luggage was mislaid.
