The country of Bolivia is an oasis of nature and native cultures in South America.
The geological rock formations of the Valley of the Moon coexist with numerous volcanoes, giant cactus plants form entire plantations.
A huge salt lake called Uyuni Salt Flats shines in the sun with its mirror-like surface, reflecting the blue sky.
Tiwanaka, one of the largest archaeological sites in South America.

Day 1: May 12 - Santa Cruz

Arrival at 20:25 on flight OB739 - Transfer - Meet at the airport and transfer to your hotel in Santa Cruz. (2 pax) o.

Day 2:May 13 - Santa Cruz tour

Explore the most important places in Santa Cruz, starting with a close look at the impressive Minor Basilica of San Lorenzo on Plaza 14 de Septiembre. Visit Campo Arte, a shop featuring local crafts, and stroll through the popular El Abasto market, seeing the main monuments and residential areas of the city. Conclude the adventure with a typical coffee and enjoy the authentic taste of Bolivian culture before returning to the hotel. Don't miss the chance to discover the true essence of Santa Cruz! Day 3: May 14- Santa Cruz - Titicaca

06:00. Transfer to the airport, flight to La Paz. Explore the ancient civilization of Tiwanaku with a full day excursion to the ruins of Tiwanaku, followed by a visit to the stunning islands of the Sun and the Moon. The ruins are located in the Andes mountains and are considered one of the most important pre-Columbian archaeological sites in South America. Stroll through the ancient ruins and learn about the fascinating history of the Tiwanaku civilization, which dates back to 400 AD. Marvel at the impressive Gate of the Sun, the Kalasasaya Temple, the Akapana Pyramid, and many other important landmarks. After exploring the ruins, lunch at the local restaurant "Taipi Uta." After lunch, you will travel from Tiwanaku to Huatajata on the shores of Lake Titicaca. Upon arrival, visit the eco-village "Raices Andinas"; the Altiplano Museum; a craft village, clay igloos, and Urus Chipayas morgenshterns. You will meet the Limachi family, builders of expeditions across the Atlantic on the RA II, Tigris, and others. Enjoy interaction with elegant vicuñas, lamas, alpacas, and mythical Suris. Audiovisual and nocturnal introduction to the "Mystical World of Kallawaya," Bolivia's healer ancestors who believe that the soul must be healed before the body. Our Kallawaya Tata Benjo will bless visitors, predicting the future with his sacred coca leaves. Night visit to the native observatory Alakhapacha to learn about Andean cosmology and observe southern constellations. Dinner at the Inca Utama Hotel & Cultural Center. 

Day 4: May 15– Titicaca –La Paz

After breakfast, enjoying the magical blue waters of Lake Titicaca, you will embark on a short transfer to the Cocotoni Bay and a hydrofoil to the Island of the Moon to visit the Temple of the Virgins of the Sun "Inyak Uyu," an important sacred place on Lake Titicaca, where the persistent sound of waves whispers memories of the past. For the Incas, women were of utmost importance, reaching textile, agricultural, cultural, and religious development. Thanks to the diligence of these young girls, we can now enjoy dried derivatives of various types of potatoes, such as "chuño" and "tunta." The temple is characterized by its technique of frontal vaults and trapezoidal and stepped elements. Continue the journey by hydrofoil to the mythical Island of the Sun. Visit the "Great Inca Staircase" and the Holy Spring; drink the water that is believed to bestow eternal youth and happiness. Lunch at the Uma Kollu archaeological restaurant; enjoy a small crafts market. Hydrofoil to the picturesque town and port of Copacabana, visit the basilica and the "Shrine of the Black Virgin," as well as the local market. Land transfer to your hotel in La Paz, crossing the Tiquina Strait by ferry. The road runs parallel to the most breathtaking snow-capped mountains of the Andes.

Day 5: May 16 - La Paz

 Discover the vibrant city of La Paz on a tour that will take you through lively streets and captivating architecture of this high-altitude metropolis. A city tour awaits you, including a visit to the witches' market and historical landmarks (4 hours). Then, an excursion to the Moon Valley – a unique place near La Paz, resembling lunar terrain due to unique formations of salt, sand, and stone, shaped over thousands of years by the forces of water and wind. Among the sharp-hilled rocks and unusual forms of the Cordillera de la Sal, lies the Valley of the Moon, a true geological spectacle that is part of the Los Flamencos National Reserve. During the tour, you will marvel at the extravagant forms of the landscape that will make you feel like you are on the surface of the Moon. Throughout the day, enjoy unparalleled views of the Andean mountain range and its volcanoes. As the sunset approaches, the desert will be bathed in golden and red hues, creating a breathtaking panoramic view. This is simply an unforgettable excursion for every visitor. Overnight at the hotel. 

Day 6:May 17 - Uyuni - Colchani - Incahuasi - Colchani

Transfer from the hotel to the airport for the flight to Uyuni on the first day, a 50-minute flight. The expedition tour in Uyuni begins. First, we'll visit the Train Cemetery, then head to the town of Colchani, where we'll explore the salt processing center and receive a detailed explanation of the drying, grinding, and packaging process. Next, we'll venture onto the salt flats, making our first stop at OJOS DE SALAR, where you can observe the internal activity of the salt flat. Then, we'll visit PLAYA BLANCA, the "Salt Hotel-Museum," the first of its kind. At noon, we'll visit the Incahuasi Island in the middle of the salt flat. There, you'll witness unparalleled limestone rocks, large populations of cacti, caves, tunnels, and a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view of the salt flat. We'll continue our journey, crossing the vast salt flats from north to south, leaving them behind, and heading along the chain of volcanoes with their eternal snows in Lipis, where we'll see the Ollague volcano in the distance. Then, we'll continue our path to the Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve, where we can enjoy the elegant figure of wild vicuñas as we reach the lakes of Canapa, Hedionda, and Honda. Here, you'll see three types of flamingos, characteristic and unique to the Andean region. Overnight at an expedition-style lodge. 

Day 7: May 18 - Siloli Desert, Red Lagoons - Uyuni

This day starts early, around 6:00 AM. The first activity is a visit to the famous rock formation in the desert, the Stone Tree. Then, we head to the unique Laguna Colorada, a place famous for its biodiversity, being the home and breeding ground of flamingos. Next, we'll visit Sol de Mañana, where we can observe the volcanic activity of the region and see fumaroles or geysers. After that, we'll drive to Polques, where you can enjoy hot springs. Later, we'll reach the Dali Desert, where surreal columns of stones carved by the wind can be found. Then, we'll marvel at Laguna Verde or the Green Lagoon, one of the gems of the reserve, at its best moment, located at the foot of the Licancabur volcano. Afterward, we'll head back to Uyuni and take a stroll through the Valley of Rocks, where giant volcanic rocks are located near Alota. Our final stop is the village of San Cristóbal, which was relocated from its original location to its current one for the needs of one of the largest mines in Bolivia. We will arrive in Uyuni around 6:00-7:00 PM and stay overnight in a hotel made of salt.

Day 8: May 19 - Cochabamba

Transfer to the airport. Transfer for the flight to Cochabamba and transfer to the hotel. Tour in Cochabamba.

Day 9: May 20 - Cochabamba to Torotoro

Start a two-day, one-night tour of Torotoro National Park, specially designed for hiking enthusiasts. Marvel at stunning landscapes while exploring caves, waterfalls, and, of course, the famous dinosaur tracks. Although the dinosaur tracks are one of the main attractions of the park, there are plenty of other places and experiences to visit and enjoy. Your adventure starts with private transportation to Torotoro, located in the Mesothermic Dry Valleys region of northern Potosi. The region features deep canyons, valleys, and waterfalls and is home to traces of large reptiles from the Mesozoic era and deep caves. Upon arrival in Torotoro, you'll stay at El Molino hotel, where you can enjoy a delicious lunch before embarking on the adventure on the first day. At 14:00, explore the Umajalanta Cave, where you will be amazed by vast vaults and galleries connected by narrow passages on the internal route. Diverse stalactites and stalagmites adorn the space inside the cave, forming whimsical shapes. The Umajalanta River flowing inside the cave also forms internal lakes inhabited by blind fish, unique in the world. The day concludes with a delicious dinner at 19:00. Feel the magic of Torotoro National Park in this unforgettable two-day tour with an overnight stay. Day 10: May 21 - Torotoro National Park to Cochabamba

Embark on an exciting adventure in the Upper Canyon and witness the amazing beauty of Bolivia. Descend a narrow trail for a few minutes until you reach the depths of the canyon, which is 300 meters deep. Marvel at the breathtaking views of the canyon walls, formed over millions of years by the erosive force of water. After the thrilling descent, enjoy a delicious lunch in Verkhel before returning to the city of Cochabamba at 16:00 on comfortable transportation. An unforgettable journey!

Our guide, Alessandra was brilliant with lots of knowledge and very considerate and helpful. The only hitch we had was on our flight back to Rio because the second leg of the trip was cancelled and we were rescheduled to a later plane and our luggage was mislaid.
