Day 2: Bogotá - City Tour + Zipaquira
Breakfast at the hotel. Panoramic City Tour through the historical center of Bogota, also called "La Candelaria". We will visit the Gold Museum, where we will see nearly 34,000 pre-Hispanic gold pieces and more than 25,000 pre-Columbian objects. Afterward, we will visit the Casa de la Moneda and Donation Botero where art pieces of master Fernando Botero, are exhibited. Botero is a Colombian artist internationally recognized in different techniques such as painting, drawing, and sculpture. The tour will end with a panoramic tour of the Plaza de Bolívar (The Prime Cathedral, The House of Nariño, The Liévano Palace and The Palace of Justice). Later on, we head to the town of Zipaquirá, located 50 Km from Bogotá in the northern part of the city, also called "Sabana de Bogotá". Once in the town, we will visit the Salt Cathedral, built inside a mine of 180 meters deep, considered one of the most important wonders of Colombia and a great work of engineering and religious art. Duration: 10 hours, Includes: Entrance fee to the Gold Museum- Casa De La Moneda and Botero Donation, entrance to Zipaquira, lunch, guide service and private transportation, local medical assistance card. Important Note: Gold Museum closed on Monday, Mint and Botero Donation closed on Tuesday.
