Day 7: Buenos Aires
Breakfast at the hotel. City tour (3 hours) with a guide. You'll explore the unique capital of Argentina and experience its legendary, centuries-old culture—a blend of history and art. Buenos Aires is home to most of Argentina's attractions. The sophistication of its architecture is comparable only to Paris, yet the city is uniquely beautiful. Buenos Aires is widely known for its numerous museums, and art enthusiasts will find a variety of museums, galleries, theaters, and architectural monuments. Key attractions include the old neighborhood of La Boca, the historic San Telmo district with its numerous bars, restaurants, and an authentic antique market at Plaza Dorrego. The heart of Buenos Aires is the central Plaza de Mayo, the largest shopping center in the world. Other significant landmarks include the "Pink House" (Casa Rosada), the presidential palace associated with Evita Perón, and many other monumental sites. Among them is the city's symbol, the 67-meter Obelisk, erected to commemorate Argentina's declaration of independence, standing on the world's widest avenue, Avenida 9 de Julio. You'll also visit the elegant Recoleta neighborhood, famous for its cemetery, the colonial-style El Pilar church, and the nearby cultural and commercial center. The tour includes visits to the modern areas of the city: Puerto Madero and the parks Lezama and 3 de Febrero. In the evening, enjoy a Tango Show (with dinner, without a guide). Tango is immensely popular worldwide, but Argentina has the unique advantage of being its birthplace. The captivating world of tango, with its passion and virtuosity, takes you into a realm of love and exquisite performance. The dance originated in the city's ports among poor immigrants, gauchos, and other marginalized individuals. Initially, it was performed quite coarsely by two men and was named after the Latin word "tangere," meaning "to touch." Over time, tango became slower and took on new tones of intimacy. Orchestras began performing tango, and it rapidly gained popularity. Today, tango is one of the most sensual dances on earth, teaching sincerity, reminding men of gallantry, and women of tenderness. The restaurant's interior creates a tango atmosphere, and a menu of traditional dishes with excellent Argentine wines complements this romantic evening.
