You'll find yourself at the heart of the country's biggest celebration. Rio's Carnival fills the Sambadrome with light, the roar of the stands, and moving floats. Drum sections pass close by, the crowd picks up the chorus, and staying in your seat becomes almost impossible. Carnival in Rio – tickets are already included in the program.
Rio will reveal its unusual geography during a Sugarloaf Mountain tour. The Pao de Acucar cable car stops at Urca, then rises higher. Between the granite peaks, beaches, yachts, the Niterói Bridge, and neighborhoods right by the water come into view.
A green train winds through the Tijuca Forest to the summit of Corcovado. There, Christ the Redeemer awaits – a familiar silhouette that looks entirely different up close. First, you'll want to look up, then step to the platform and see the city spread at the mountain's base.
The Brazilian side of the falls doesn't reveal the main scene all at once. The trail keeps its distance at first, then with each turn, more cascades come into view. An Iguazu Falls tour where you take in the entire canyon in one sweeping gaze.

Itinerary

Day 1. Arrival in Rio de Janeiro. Transfer to Hotel. Free Time

On the drive from the airport, it's hard to piece Rio together at first. The car dives through tunnels, high-rises press up against granite slopes, and then the ocean appears around the next bend. The city feels both tight and vast at once – with its mile-long beaches, enormous stadium, and the Botanical Garden tucked between it all.

After being met at the airport, you'll be taken to your hotel. The rest of the day is free. Brazil Carnival tours demand plenty of energy, so there's no need to rush – change after your flight, grab a cold juice, and head to the water without a schedule. Copacabana Beach quickly reminds you that you're on vacation – it's a pleasure to walk along the ocean, listen to the surf, and watch the city ease into evening. 

Your Rio de Janeiro vacation is just beginning. Old Rio, colonial churches, and the main panoramas still lie ahead.
Day 1. Arrival in Rio de Janeiro. Transfer to Hotel. Free Time -0

Day 2. Rio de Janeiro. Sugarloaf Mountain Tour. Old Town Walk

After breakfast, you'll head to Sugarloaf Mountain. The cable car first stops at the lower Urca Hill, where it's pleasant to pause at the edge of the platform and take in the city from above for the first time. Below, yachts leave thin trails on the water, the Niterói Bridge crosses the bay, and houses fill the space between the rocks.

From the upper station on Sugarloaf, the coastline is visible almost in full – Ipanema Beach, Leblon Beach, recognizable by their long strips of sand against dense urban development.

After descending, a city tour of the old center begins. Modern districts fall away, and the streets grow narrower. Along the way, you'll see monasteries, historic churches, the main cathedral, and colonial facades. 

We recommend trying Brazil's famous meat at Fogo de Chão restaurant with a view of Sugarloaf (USD 75).
Day 2. Rio de Janeiro. Sugarloaf Mountain Tour. Old Town Walk -1

Optional: Helicopter Flight Over Rio*

During the flight, the city completely shifts its familiar proportions. Granite peaks rise right through the neighborhoods, beaches stretch along the ocean in pale arcs, and between them, you can see the lagoon, the Botanical Garden, and yachts in the bay.

From above, you really understand what sets Rio apart from other megacities – the city didn't subdue nature, it merged with it. In a single frame, you'll see Sugarloaf, Christ the Redeemer, Niemeyer Avenue, Leblon, Ipanema, and Copacabana. The helicopter changes angles quickly, and familiar places look different each time. The strongest moment comes when your gaze takes in the ocean, the mountains, and the entire city between them.

Day 3. Rio de Janeiro. Free Time. Evening – Carnival at the Sambadrome. Samba School Parade

You can rest at the hotel until evening to save your energy for the night ahead. The Rio Sambadrome is not a typical concert venue – between the long stands runs a 700-meter avenue, where samba schools parade toward the Apotheosis Square.

The Rio Sambadrome parade combines apparent freedom with precise calculation. Each school presents its own theme, with judges evaluating nine separate elements – from composition and column movement to the flag and the lead dance group. Carnival costumes in Rio work as part of the narrative: through colors, details, and the changing floats, spectators read the story. 

Brazilian samba schools compete not just for a trophy – the last-placed school drops out of the top league. You can feel the tension even from the stands. After the first chorus, the crowd is already singing along, and by the finale, individual voices merge into a single choir.

After the parade, you'll be transferred back to your hotel.
Day 3. Rio de Janeiro. Free Time. Evening – Carnival at the Sambadrome. Samba School Parade -3

Day 4. Rio de Janeiro. Corcovado Tour to Christ the Redeemer.

After breakfast, you'll ascend Corcovado by cog train. The train climbs slowly, and the city outside the window gradually gives way to dense greenery. The Tijuca Forest presses close to the railway – branches reach toward the carriages, and between the trunks, the bay and rooftops appear for a few seconds.

At the summit of Corcovado stands Christ the Redeemer, open to all the winds. Up close, the familiar silhouette looks completely different. You'll want to tilt your head back and study the statue first, then step to the viewing platform overlooking Guanabara Bay, Maracanã, the Botanical Garden, and Sugarloaf.

By evening, you can head to the Arpoador rocks, where spectators applaud the sunset. 

Dinner at Marius restaurant introduces you to local fish and seafood. Price: USD 130 per person.
Day 4. Rio de Janeiro. Corcovado Tour to Christ the Redeemer. -4

Day 5. Flight Rio – Foz do Iguaçu. Transfer to Hotel

After breakfast, you'll be taken to the airport. The flight to Foz do Iguaçu shifts the journey's mood: Rio stays by the ocean, and ahead lies the rainforest and a river that suddenly breaks into countless streams.

Iguazu National Park begins almost at the city limits, but near the falls, the city's presence quickly fades. Mist hangs in the air, a white cloud rises above the trees, and a low rumble is audible even before you reach the viewpoints. Over the next two days, you'll see Iguazu Falls from both sides – first taking in the cascades at a glance, then stepping almost face-to-face with the water.

Upon arrival, you'll be met and transferred to your chosen hotel. Brazil tours with an English-speaking guide let you avoid the hassle of planning – your introduction to the falls starts tomorrow.
Day 5. Flight Rio – Foz do Iguaçu. Transfer to Hotel -5

Day 6. Foz do Iguaçu. Brazilian Side of Iguazu Falls. Devil's Throat

After breakfast, your encounter with the falls begins. The Brazilian side keeps visitors at a distance at first – the trail runs along the canyon, and the cascades appear gradually. With each turn, more water comes into view, until the individual streams merge into a wide white wall.

An Iguazu Falls walking tour lets you learn all about the cascades – how they formed, how they change, and what role the mist plays in the forest's ecosystem. Conversation drowns in the roar, spray settles on your face, and short rainbows appear above the forest. The river, calm just moments ago, splits around islands and drops over basalt ledges. The name "Iguazu" comes from the Guarani language, meaning "big water" – and at the viewpoint, it no longer sounds like an exaggeration. You'll want to linger at the railing and watch how the water changes shape with every second.
Day 6. Foz do Iguaçu. Brazilian Side of Iguazu Falls. Devil's Throat -6

Optional Excursions: Macuco Safari*

You can add the Macuco Safari to your program. An open jeep takes you about 3 kilometers along a forest road, then a short trail leads to the river. The most exciting part begins on the boat – it picks up speed, approaches the cascades, and within minutes, spray flies over the sides. The roar of the water grows louder than the engine, and a rainbow appears just beside you. Pure adrenaline and plenty of great photos.

The Iguazu Bird Park is located near the national park. In spacious aviaries, visitors walk through tropical vegetation while macaws and scarlet ibises fly overhead. Toucans perch on branches almost at eye level. It's pleasant to slow down here, listen to the sharp calls, and notice movement in the foliage.

Optional: Helicopter Flight Over Iguazu Falls*

After takeoff, the forest quickly turns into a dense green carpet, with the wide river curving through it. From the ground, you see individual cascades – from the air, they come together as a unified scene: water flows around islands and drops from dozens of ledges at once.

The Devil's Throat looks especially dramatic. A cloud of mist hangs over the canyon, with white torrents showing through it and rainbows appearing alongside. The helicopter changes direction, and the boundary between the calm river and the falls passes right before your eyes. At this moment, it's hard to look in only one direction – you want to take in the forest, the cascades, and the watery cloud all at once. After landing, the roar of the falls lingers in your memory.

Day 7. Foz do Iguaçu. Argentine Side of Iguazu Falls

After breakfast, you'll cross the Tancredo Neves Bridge and head into the national park with your guide. The Argentine side of Iguazu offers a different feel for the water – walkways pass over the wide riverbed, descend along the slope, and approach the cascades so closely that spray reaches the catwalks.

These Iguazu excursions highlight the contrast between the two banks. Yesterday, the falls appeared as a grand panorama; today, they break into individual streams, each with its own sound and direction. The water still moves calmly between the islands, but a few steps later, it disappears over the edge right beneath your feet.

The most intense part of the route is the Devil's Throat, reached by catwalks across the river. At the platform, there's only the roar, the mist, and the white veil. All you want to do is stand and watch.
Day 7. Foz do Iguaçu. Argentine Side of Iguazu Falls -10

Day 8. Flight Iguazu – Rio. Transfer to Buzios. Check-in at Hotel

After breakfast, you'll be taken to the airport for your flight from Iguazu to Rio, followed by a driver meet-and-greet and transfer to Buzios. This group tour to Brazil changes character – after the cities and waterfalls, several free days by the ocean begin.

Buzios, Brazil – a place where you can choose your mood for each day. The peninsula has more than twenty beaches: in Ferradura and João Fernandes coves, the water is usually calmer, while on open Geribá, waves roll in. The shores are relatively close to each other but look completely different – from small sandy strips between rocks to long open stretches.

This is what beach vacations in Brazil are all about – in Buzios, you can search for a new cove in the morning, swim during the day, and head to the Bardo waterfront and Rua das Pedras in the evening. After checking in, there's no need to rush – four nights on the coast lie ahead.
Day 8. Flight Iguazu – Rio. Transfer to Buzios. Check-in at Hotel -11

Days 9–11. Buzios. Free Time. Beach Relaxation in Brazil

Mornings can start without an alarm or a tour group. Buzios peninsula has beaches with different characters, so there's no need to stay in one place all day. It's a pleasure to choose a new shore each day, swim, have lunch by the sea, and gradually stop watching the clock.

If you're drawn to Brazil's beaches, this Buzios tour leaves enough time to find your own stretch of sand. Swim, settle in the shade, or simply walk along the water until you feel like stopping.

For those who want more activity, buggy rental in Buzios lets you explore the peninsula on your own and stop at viewpoints. Another option is a boat tour along Buzios – cruising past coves and rocky shores. White houses remain on the slopes, small coves appear between the rocks, and the ocean changes color from dark blue to translucent green. On deck, it's pleasant to feel the wind and spot places you couldn't see from the road.

Day 12. Transfer Buzios – Rio. Departure Home

After breakfast, you'll be taken to Rio de Janeiro airport for your international flight. Your Brazil Carnival vacation comes to an end – twelve very different days.

This group tour to Brazil started among Rio's granite peaks, continued through the night parade at the Sambadrome, and led to Iguazu Falls, where conversation drowned in the roar of water. After the excursions came the coves of Buzios, warm sand, and evenings without a schedule.

Еще Рио - хотя там было пасмурно и может быть это чуть смазало краски, но это Рио же!
БА чистый и интересный - пишут, в отличии от Рио))
Патагония зимой прозрачный и от белого до синего лед, чистый безумно понравилось!
Не зашла Амазонка - наигранные гиды, нет животных. Видимо, нужно ехать глубже уже.
Не зашел Сан-Паулу.

Para una persona viajando solo eso trae tranquilidad. Los lugares que he visidado eran todos muy impresionantes. Con Cusco y los tours correspondientes los mas destacados. Me quede muy impresionado de la cultura Inca y la visita al Machu Picchu era una experiencia espiritual elevadora. El viaje de Arequipa a Nasca de 10 horas por bus era agotador. Llegue dormido a Nasca y me tuvieron que departar. Comprendo que para poder ver a el condor y también volar sobra el desierto de Nasca este viaje fue la mejor opción.
Los hoteles fueron perfectos. Mi favorita fue lq Britania Crystal Miraflores. Yo le daría 4.5 *. Yo recomendaria este tour a qualquiera que quira hacer el tour como yo lo hice. Espero que con las conecciones aerias directas proramadas entre Curacao i Lima ( comensando el fin de año) y con el nuevo aeropuerto international en Cusco en algunos años el turismo desde Curacao sea mas grande.

Good afternoon, we were in Rio de Janeiro March 15–17, 2020. Not for long, but it was very full of experiences.
The driver who met us at the airport, to our joy, spoke English and even a little Russian. He pointed out where we could walk and eat.
The next day we met Eleonora, a GUIDE and a Person with a capital P. We were lucky to visit Corcovado and see Brazil’s main symbol. Unfortunately, we couldn’t make it to Sugarloaf Mountain due to the coronavirus quarantine.
Instead of the canceled excursion, Eleonora gave us an impromptu city tour. She tells stories in an interesting way, knows a lot, but doesn’t overwhelm with facts, shows where the best photo spots are, and even took pictures herself. Thanks to her, we managed to get coffee and souvenirs—it turned out not so easy to find what we wanted.
She was very caring and concerned for us—even after we went to Búzios, she kept checking how we were, suggesting where to go and what to see and buy.
