Belize City
It is said that Belize City was built on a foundation of chicle, coral, and empty rum bottles. Whether true or not, this city with a population of 80,000 certainly has a legendary past. Over the centuries, it has served as a Maya settlement, a haven for pirates, a British timber-cutting town, and the center of the British Empire in Central America. It was only recently the capital of the country until Belmopan assumed that status in 1970. Surrounded on three sides by the Caribbean Sea, Belize City is comprised of faded Victorian mansions, cinderblock buildings, and traditional Creole eateries. It is divided by the Haulover Creek. The northern part is home to popular attractions such as Fort George Lighthouse, the Belize Museum, and the Baron Bliss Memorial; the southern side is a hub of banks, businesses, and markets.
Services: Meet & Greet
Upon arrival, our representative will greet you with a sign displaying your name. Please note that in accordance with airport regulations at the Belize International Airport, representatives awaiting arrivals are not permitted to enter the airport and must wait for guests outside the airport premises. After collecting your luggage and clearing customs, you should proceed to the airport exit where you will be met. This also applies to guests being met but have a connecting domestic flight from the same airport.
San Pedro (Ambergris Caye)
The largest of Belize's islands, Ambergris Caye, lies parallel to the magnificent Belize Barrier Reef. Once the homeland of the ancient Maya (who created the island by carving a channel between Belize and Mexico), Ambergris is located 56 kilometers (35 miles) northeast of Belize and is accessible by both boat and plane. It's a popular destination for diving, snorkeling, sailing, fishing, kayaking, and windsurfing; it's also easy to plan trips to nearby Caye Caulker and the mainland. Formerly a fishing village, San Pedro is the only town on the island; its sandy streets are lined with waterfront restaurants, hotels, tiki bars, and dive shops. Visitors to Ambergris may notice that Belizean legislation prohibits the removal of coastal seaweed to protect the natural environment. Authorities make every effort to clean up seaweed that washes ashore. So don't be surprised if you find a bit of sea greenery near your cold bottle of Belikin.
