Day 4 – Bariloche / Puerto Varas
Following a delightful breakfast at your hotel, prepare for an unforgettable full-day adventure as you cross the stunning lakes between Argentina and Chile. At 8:15 am, you'll depart from your hotel in Bariloche, boarding a bus that takes you along the picturesque route to Puerto Pañuelo, with Lake Nahuel Huapi as your scenic companion. Along the way, you'll be captivated by the charming Swiss-style architecture, beautifully complemented by vibrant gardens and colorful flowers that line the path to Pañuelo Port.
Here, you’ll step aboard the catamaran "Victoria Andina" or "Victoria del Lago" for a serene one-hour cruise across the tranquil waters of Lake Nahuel Huapi, en route to Puerto Blest. At 10:00 am, as you sail approximately 15 miles, immerse yourself in the majestic beauty of the landscape, where lush green forests embrace the lake's shores, and local birdlife enhances the natural symphony. Along the way, you’ll gain fascinating insights into the rich history of this enchanting region.
At 11:40 am, you’ll arrive at Puerto Blest, where a bus awaits to take you on a short 3-mile journey along the Frías River to Puerto Alegre. From there, you’ll board the "City of Faith" for a serene voyage on the emerald waters of Lake Frías. As you glide across the lake, take in the breathtaking views of Tronador Mountain, towering at 3,491 meters, its summit adorned with nine glaciers. After a 20-minute cruise, you'll reach the quaint port of Puerto Frías, nestled amid lush vegetation.
Here, you'll complete the departure procedures at Argentina's customs office before continuing by bus through the verdant landscape of the Andes. Marvel at the dense forests and the awe-inspiring sight of Tronador Mountain as you make your way to Peulla, located within the Pérez Rosales National Park.
At 2:00 pm, after completing entry formalities in Chile at Peulla, you'll transfer to the Hotel Natura Patagonia Peulla, where you'll have time for lunch (please note that lunch is not included).
At 4:00 pm, your journey continues as you depart for Petrohué, sailing across the serene waters of Lake Todos los Santos. If weather conditions permit, you'll be treated to magnificent views of the Osorno and Tronador volcanoes, along with the striking Puntiagudo Hill. At 5:15 pm, the adventure proceeds toward Puerto Varas. Along the way, you'll visit the mesmerizing Saltos del Petrohué, where waterfalls cascade over volcanic rock formations (admission not included). The final leg of your journey takes you along the shores of Lake Llanquihue, offering breathtaking views of the Osorno Volcano and the stunning Calbuco scenery.
By 7:30 pm, you’ll arrive in Puerto Varas, where you’ll be transferred to your pre-booked hotel, concluding this remarkable journey.
