Ecuador is not just a country — it's an encounter with nature in its purest beauty.

Ecuador, Galapagos and the whales!

Ecuador is a land of extraordinary contrasts—where snow-capped volcanoes, lush Amazon rainforests, and colonial cities coexist in perfect harmony. Just beyond its Pacific shores, the Galápagos Islands offer a once-in-a-lifetime journey into a pristine world of rare wildlife and otherworldly beauty.

Despite its compact size, Ecuador offers an astonishing diversity of landscapes, cultures, and wildlife, making it one of South America's most captivating travel destinations.
From colorful colonial cities and indigenous markets to volcanic lakes and cloud forests, Ecuador invites travelers to experience nature and tradition in their purest forms.
As the whales journey over 7,000 miles from Antarctica to Ecuador's warm waters to breed and give birth, lucky observers are treated to breathtaking displays of breeching, tail-slapping, and courtship songs.
The Galápagos Islands are a living museum of evolution—an untouched paradise where unique wildlife roams freely, volcanic landscapes tell ancient stories, and every moment feels like stepping into a world lost in time.
Highlights include: Colonial streets of the capital, a UNESCO World Heritage Site,
The famous equator line
The breathtaking Avenue of Volcanoes and Waterfalls
The majestic Pacific Ocean coastline
A unique tour of the Galápagos Islands
Unforgettable humpback whale watching in their natural habitat

Day 2: Quito
After breakfast at the hotel, you will embark on a city tour of Quito, including a visit to the famous equator line. This full-day excursion (approximately 8 hours) will immerse you in the vibrant history and culture of Ecuador’s capital. As you explore Quito, you’ll be captivated by stunning panoramas, historic churches, and remarkable architecture. Founded in the 16th century on the ruins of an Inca city, Quito sits at an elevation of 2,800 meters. Despite a major earthquake in 1917, it boasts the best-preserved historic center in Latin America, showcasing a unique blend of Spanish, Italian, Moorish, Flemish, and Indigenous influences. Your journey begins with a relaxed 1.5-hour walking tour through the Old Town, where you’ll uncover the city’s rich past, starting from the original Quitu tribe that inhabited the area. You'll learn about Quito’s role as a capital in the Inca Empire and its later transformation into a Spanish colonial city. Key highlights include: • San Francisco Church, built by the Franciscans, which became a center of education and art • Plaza Grande, surrounded by iconic landmarks such as the Cathedral, Presidential Palace, and City Hall • The stunning Jesuit Church (La Compañía), renowned for its elaborately carved façade Next, enjoy breathtaking views of the city from El Panecillo Hill, crowned by the iconic Winged Virgin Mary statue overlooking the cityscape. Continuing your adventure, you'll head to the "Middle of the World", where two key attractions mark the equator: • Ciudad Mitad del Mundo: A tourist and cultural complex featuring the monument commemorating the 1736 French Geodesic Mission that identified the equator’s location. Although the monument is 240 meters south of the actual equator, it's still a major highlight. • Intiñan Museum: An interactive site where you can participate in experiments that reveal the unique physical effects at the equator. The museum also celebrates the heritage of ancient South American civilizations, showcasing traditional dwellings, totems, and artifacts from Indigenous communities. After a day full of discovery and awe-inspiring sights, you'll return to your hotel to reflect on the wonders of Quito. Meals: Breakfast
Day 2: Quito -1
Day 3: Quilotoa Crater Lake – Overnight in Baños
After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, you'll set off on an unforgettable visit to the stunning Quilotoa Crater Lake. This full-day excursion (approximately 10 hours) includes a 2-hour transfer from Quito to Quilotoa and another 3.5-hour journey to Baños. Along the way, you'll stop at a craft workshop in the village of Tigua, the birthplace of the Naïve painting style—vibrant Andean landscapes of Ecuador painted on sheepskin. We’ll then continue westward toward the Central Andes of Ecuador, following the scenic "Pujilí Route", passing through the small town of Quilotoa. As you approach Quilotoa, you’ll be greeted by breathtaking views of the crater, home to a striking emerald-green lake nestled within the caldera of an extinct volcano. Upon arrival, we’ll visit a viewpoint overlooking the crater lake, and take a walk through the nearby Indigenous community. If the group wishes, there is an option to hike down to the lake’s edge, go kayaking, and return on mules. Please note: kayaking and mule rides are not included in the tour price and are provided informally by local residents until approximately 3:00 PM. Stops along the route include: a rose plantation, scenic viewpoints, an Indigenous art gallery, and the crater lake. Spend the day in a stunning corner of the world known for its sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and unique endemic flora and fauna. As you journey for about two hours, keep an eye out for dolphins and other marine creatures that may accompany the yacht. Your destination is Bartolomé Island, where you’ll begin a 30-minute hike uphill through a surreal, almost lunar landscape to reach the island’s highest point. From the panoramic viewpoint, enjoy breathtaking vistas of Santiago, North Seymour, Baltra, Santa Cruz, Rábida, and the tiny “Chinese Hat” islet—as well as the iconic Pinnacle Rock, a dramatic volcanic formation. In the evening, return to your hotel in Puerto Ayora, where you’ll have free time to explore the charming town on your own. Accommodation: Hotel Fiesta 4★ Meals: Breakfast, Lunch Day 7: Sea Excursion to North Seymour or Plaza Island (Final destination confirmed after booking; both islands are equally fascinating.) North Seymour is famous for its vibrant bird colonies. Be mesmerized by male frigatebirds inflating their bright red throat pouches to attract females during the breeding season, and by the iconic blue-footed boobies. Watch as the males perform their elaborate mating dances, lifting one wing and proudly showing off their vivid blue feet. A freshly prepared lunch will be served aboard the yacht. In the afternoon, head to the Bachas Beaches on the northern coast of Santa Cruz Island. Return to Puerto Ayora is expected around 4:00 PM, giving you free time to stroll along the dock, shop for souvenirs, or simply enjoy a beautiful sunset. Plaza Island Begin your day by departing the hotel and heading north toward the Itabaca Channel. Board a yacht and sail to South Plaza Island, one of the smallest islands in the archipelago. After approximately 1.5 hours, you’ll be greeted by a vibrant red-and-green carpet of Sesuvium, an endemic plant that blankets the island, accompanied by the playful barking of sea lions that call this place home. The turquoise waters blend beautifully with the white sandy beaches and volcanic formations. Your walk on the island will be easy and relaxed, taking you past playful sea lions and land iguanas. Reach the island’s highest cliff for breathtaking views where you might see swallow-tailed gulls soaring overhead and solitary male sea lions retreating after battling for harems. Dear Anna, Alexandra, Iona and the rest of the team at Ada Tours
Feed-back from a happy, satisfied customer!
A very big thank you for your very efficient services, Hospitality and most importantly your patience throughout the tour of my client. Dr. Chrysantha Mendis is very happy with the entire Tour. You did a fantastic job by organizing a detailed tour package covering 7 countries, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Chile, Peru, Argentina, and Brazil. Dr. Mendis has enjoyed all the countries though he could not do a few tours in Peru which is understandable due to political unrest. We will recommend Ada Tours to all our clients in Sri Lanka and will start promoting your tours in our website.
Best wishes and kind regards,
Shamali
