Let's take a stroll through a city designed by three geniuses. The central square of the city is called the "Plaza of the Three Powers," where the administrative and public buildings are located. Running from north to south is the city's main transportation artery, and from west to east is the Monumental Axis. On the western side of the Monumental Axis stands the famous National Congress building, as well as the twin towers of the presidential administration. Surrounding the Plaza of the Three Powers are the buildings for the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of government.

Oscar Niemeyer's major project in Brasília is the Cathedral of Brasília, known as the Cathedral Metropolitana de Nossa Senhora Aparecida, which is one of the most famous monuments of the 20th century and a masterpiece of Niemeyer. Brasília is the cultural heart of the country, featuring the National Theater, the Museum of Brazil, and the Institute of History.
