Tours Orange Walk in Belize
Known endearingly as "Sugar City," Orange Walk lies approximately 55 miles north along the Northern Highway, making for a roughly 65-minute drive from Belize City. It’s also just a short 30-mile drive to Corozal Town. The entrance to Orange Walk is marked by the country’s sole tollbooth, where a modest fee of about US 50 cents is collected. As you pass through, two prominent features immediately capture your attention: the picturesque New River, lined with tour guide operators, and the towering smokestacks of the former sugar mill. While sugar once dominated the town, its influence has waned, leaving a new era for Orange Walk to embrace.
