Dorado: A species whose catch is year-round, but if you want to have a chance at the biggest dorado, come and fish in Costa Rica from November to April.
Marlin is the most common of its billfish here while cruising the waters of Costa Rica throughout the year.
The Blue marlin is the easiest to find in November, December, March and April, while the black marlin fishing is in July and August. Marlin’s strength and beauty are incomparable, growing up to 14 feet and weighing nearly 2000 pounds.
Rooster fish is one of the most wanted fish to catch worldwide. They average 20-50 pounds.
The Sailfish are here all year, with the maximum time from January to July.

The tour route is planned by days

Tour route
Day 1: San Jose
Arrival at Juan Santamaria International Airport. You will be met by our representative, and transferred to the hotel. You will have a detailed explanation of the upcoming trip. Overnight at the Barceló San Jose Palacio.

Day 1: San Jose -0
Day 2-3-4: Pacific Coast
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the Pacific coast (transfer duration: 4 hours)
We'll be fishing in Flamingo, the best area of the North Pacific. Located on the northwest coast of Costa Rica, Flamingo is the best sport fishing destination. Only twenty miles west of Port Flamingo the water is deep from 360 to 2,000 feet or more, providing a perfect ecosystem for pelagic species such as: peaceful sailfish, blue, black and striped marlin, dorado, yellow fin and big-eyed tuna. In addition, just five miles from the port of Flamingo there are islands of Catalina and Brummell, where anglers catch year-round, including: wahoo, Sierra markel, Spanish mackerel, big-eyed horse mackerel. Overnight at Tamarindo Diria Hotel (Meals: B, L)

Day 2-3-4: Pacific Coast -1
Day 5-6: Pacific Coast
Enjoy your free time on the beach. Overnight at Tamarindo Diria Hotel (Meals: B)
Day 5-6: Pacific Coast -2
Day 7: San Jose
Transfer to the international airport. (Meals: B)

Hi Anna, thank you for the update on the glasses. I’ll wait and see what happens! Alan and I are now back in the UK. We loved our trip to the Pantanal and Bonito. Our guide, Alessandra was brilliant with lots of knowledge and very considerate and helpful. The only hitch we had was on our flight back to Rio because the second leg of the trip was cancelled and we were rescheduled to a later plane and our luggage was mislaid. Fortunately it arrived in Rio a day later, before we flew home. Thank you for arranging the trip.
