TLDR: A Belize DMC runs two different trips, the reef cayes and the Maya interior, linked by road, boat and light aircraft. Travel agencies choosing a partner should check the Belize Tourism Board license, who operates each leg and what each quote includes, Ada Tours included.
Belize is small, yet one itinerary can mix a dawn drive to a jungle site, a shared water taxi and a short flight to a southern beach. Each leg has its own operator, timing and failure point.
Two zones set the plan. The cayes lie along the Belize Barrier Reef, which UNESCO's World Heritage Committee inscribed in 1996 as the largest barrier reef in the Northern Hemisphere. Western Belize, around San Ignacio, holds the Maya sites and caves.

Each leg between the zones uses a different vehicle. Tropic Air flies from Belize City to San Pedro, Caye Caulker, Placencia, Punta Gorda, Dangriga and Corozal, and San Pedro Belize Express runs water taxis to San Pedro and Caye Caulker. The Exploring Belize itinerary Ada Tours offers uses a shared water taxi of about 45 minutes to Caye Caulker and a 60-minute road transfer plus a 60-minute riverboat to its jungle lodge.
Boats and light aircraft are the weather-sensitive legs, and the Atlantic hurricane season runs from 1 June to 30 November.
Yes, when it plans each as its own day. Caracol is the largest Maya site in Belize, and in the Belize itineraries Ada Tours offers it is a full-day excursion from San Ignacio with a swim stop in the Mountain Pine Ridge.
Actun Tunichil Muknal Cave adds a jungle hike and a swim. A San Ignacio hotel's visitor guide, dated 7 November 2025, states that only licensed guides lead tours and that cameras are prohibited, which clients should hear before they book.

On the reef, Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark Ray Alley are day trips from Ambergris Caye or Caye Caulker. The Great Blue Hole is seen from the air: Tropic Air lists a Great Blue Hole tour, and the shared flyover listed in the Belize Adventure itinerary Ada Tours offers runs on fixed days only, so the travel dates must match a flight day.
Belize licenses both operators and guides. The Belize Tourism Board states that tour operators must be licensed and that guides are certified through its licenses, and its advisory of 1 December 2017 calls operating without a valid license an offence under the Tour Operator Regulations.
Ask for the license number of the operator on each excursion, and the guide's license on cave and reef days. Membership of the Belize Tourism Industry Association, which represents hotels, tour operators and guides and reports more than 200 members, shows an operator belongs to the trade body. It is not an endorsement.
Ada Tours is a Rio de Janeiro-based DMC for Latin America, and Belize sits inside that wider program. Ada Tours offers Belize itineraries for groups and individuals, and we can work under an agency's own brand or under ours. Its Belize page lists the places it covers.

The Belize itineraries Ada Tours offers run from 6 to 13 days. They cover Western Belize (Xunantunich, Caracol, the Mountain Pine Ridge and Actun Tunichil Muknal Cave), Lamanai, Ambergris Caye, Caye Caulker, Placencia and a birding circuit through Cockscomb Basin and Crooked Tree.
| What the trip needs | Where Ada Tours fits | What still needs confirming |
|---|---|---|
| A caye stay with reef days | Belize Adventure and Exploring Belize include Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley snorkeling | Dates, hotel, and whether each excursion is shared or private |
| Maya sites and caves in Western Belize | Belize Adventure includes Xunantunich, Caracol and the cave, and Belize Highlights includes Caracol and the cave | Guide licenses, cave access on the travel dates, group size |
| A birding or lodge-based stay | The Bird Watching route links Western Belize, the Mountain Pine Ridge, Cockscomb Basin and Crooked Tree | Season and lodge availability |
| Belize with Guatemala or Honduras | The Guatemala, Honduras and Belize route on the Ada Tours site runs 12 days from Antigua to Tikal and Belize | Border fees, and which team runs each leg |
| A Belize-only trip with an operator on call in-country, or a fixed-date small group | Compare the Belize-based operators below first, since Ada Tours is based in Rio de Janeiro and Belize sits inside a wider Latin America program | Who is on call, and the departure terms |
Hotels, availability and rates are confirmed for each enquiry. Meal plans differ by route and hotel, so we state breakfast as included only where the exact route says so. The Belize Highlights and regional itineraries Ada Tours offers list border fees as exclusions, and Belize Highlights also lists departure taxes. Agency commercial terms are confirmed for each enquiry, and Ada Tours does not claim to be the best Belize DMC. For several countries at once, see one DMC for a multi-country trip.
Send Ada Tours the dates, group size and cayes-and-interior split and expect routes, transfers and exclusions confirmed in writing before pricing.
After Ada Tours, these Belize-based operators appear alphabetically. Details are as of 15 October 2026, and none is ranked or endorsed.
Darah Travel Ltd, whose site is Belize Travel Services, is based in Belmopan and describes itself as a Belize destination management company established in 2010. Its site lists tailor-made trips, incentive groups, conference itineraries and a Beyond Belize service that builds multi-country trips through regional partners.

ROEming Belize Ltd, in Belize City, plans tailor-made trips, private transfers, flights and charters, group travel and resort buyouts. Its site lists a Fora Travel Advisor affiliation.
Zant & Co Limited describes itself as a Belize-based travel and destination management company. It publishes package prices per person and lists its Blue Hole Flyover Adventure, which it calls a helicopter experience, at "$2,600 Per Flight, for 2 Pax".
Quotes state the same cost in different units, so convert before comparing. Two examples, each for 12 clients:
Five steps narrow the shortlist:
Ada Tours plans Belize itineraries as group or individual trips, from 6-day to 13-day routes across Western Belize, the cayes and Placencia. Dates, hotels and availability are confirmed for each enquiry, since a published route does not guarantee space.
Ada Tours does not claim to be the best Belize DMC, and a Belize-only trip with an operator on call in-country may suit another partner better. We recommend comparing license evidence, who runs each leg and a per-person quote from every candidate.
Ada Tours offers routes that combine Belize with Guatemala and Honduras, including Tikal, Lake Atitlán and Copán. Border fees in Belize are listed as exclusions, so the quote should show them separately.
Ada Tours treats the Belize Tourism Board license as a baseline check, since the Board states that tour operators must be licensed and that guides are certified through its licenses. We recommend asking every candidate DMC for the license number of the operator on each excursion.
The Belize itineraries Ada Tours offers list private transfers, guided excursions and the activities named in each itinerary, while international flights and unspecified meals are exclusions, and some routes also list border fees and departure taxes. Breakfast counts as included only where the exact route and hotel include it.
Ada Tours' Belize Adventure route lists a shared Great Blue Hole flyover, and those flights operate on fixed days only. The travel dates must match a flight day before the route is confirmed.
