Santa Clara became famous because of Che Guevara and the history of Cuba's revolution. The city counts with the Ernesto Che Guevara monument complex, declared as a national monument.
The capital of Villa Clara, about 300 km south-east from Havana, can be easily reach by autopista and the Carreta Central. The city square Parque Vidal has frequent performances of orchestras nowadays. The colonial house among the parque are from the end of the 19e and begin of the 20e century. You can find here as well the Casa de la Trova for daily life music.
Santa Clara has an excellent Tabaccos factory. The factory occupies a full city block and produces high-quality Montecristo, Partagas, Romeo & Julieta, Punch, and Robaina cigars. You can pay a visit to the place and learn a little bit of its manufactoring process.
