Chile: Colorful Santiago and the Enigmatic Easter Island

6 Days/5 Nights

Santiago -Valparaiso and Vina del Mar - Easter Island

Santiago is an incredibly colorful city where antique houses built in colonial style coexist with modern skyscrapers, all set against the backdrop of the snow-capped Andes.
Easter Island - one of the most mysterious places on our planet! Approximately two millennia ago, an ancient civilization, Rapa Nui, existed there, leaving numerous traces in the form of giant Moai statues.

Day 1: Santiago

Arrival at Santiago Airport, transfer to the hotel. 4-hour city tour of Santiago with a private guide. Free evening. Optional dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: Valparaiso and Vina del Mar

Breakfast. Excursion to the Pacific coast: UNESCO city of Valparaiso for a walk through its streets. Group tour with an English-speaking guide. Visit the city of flowers, Vina del Mar. Walk along the waterfront and observe pelicans. Optional wine tour on return to Santiago, offering a chance to taste Chile's world-renowned wines, explore vineyards, and learn their history. Overnight in Santiago.

Day 3: Santiago - Easter Island

Breakfast. Transfer with a Spanish-speaking driver to the Santiago Airport. Flight from Santiago to Easter Island. Arrival and start of the tour. Group tour with an English-speaking guide. Excursion to the ceremonial center of Orongo, exploring the slopes of the Rano Kao volcano, witnessing the beauty of the crater lake. Visit the ceremonial village of Orongo, where the island's leader was chosen through a risky competition involving the sacred bird Manutara. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4: Easter Island - Anakena

Breakfast at the hotel. Full-day island tour with an English-speaking guide. Visit the southern coast to see examples of unreconstructed platforms: Ahu Vaihu in Hanga Te'e Bay and Akahanga, believed to be the burial site of the famous king Hotu Matua. Proceed to Rano Raraku, where most of the Moai were carved and where numerous statues remain. Enjoy a boxed lunch in nature. Visit Ahu Tongariki (restored with 15 Moai), then head east to Ahu Te Pito Kura and the "Navel of the World," the most energetic place on the island. Relax on Anakena Beach with its warm turquoise water, white sand, palm trees, and the Ahu Nau Nau platform, creating one of the most attractive landscapes on the island. Return to Hanga Roa via the central route. Return to the hotel.

Day 5: Easter Island - Ahu Akivi

Breakfast at the hotel. Group tour with an English-speaking guide. Visit the restored platform of Ahu Akivi, built in the center of the island, featuring seven Moai statues. Legend has it that these statues represent seven explorers sent to Rapa Nui by King Hotu Matua. See the unrestored Ahu Hanga Puku Riki. Then visit Puna Pau, a green and picturesque site with notable red tuff extracted from the slopes of the extinct volcano Puna Pau. This stone was specifically used for making the topknots of the giant statues. Continue to the ceremonial complex of Tahai, an archaeological site on Rapa Nui. The Tahai complex includes three main Moai platforms from north to south: Ko Te Riku – with restored eyes, Tahai, and Vai Ure. The ceremonial center at Tahai is now an integral part of Rapa Nui's national park, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Transfer to the airport and departure to Santiago. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. Accommodation and overnight at the hotel.

Day 6: Santiago

(International Departure) Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport at the scheduled time for the return flight home.

Dear Anna, Alexandra, Iona and the rest of the team at Ada Tours
Feed-back from a happy, satisfied customer!
A very big thank you for your very efficient services, Hospitality and most importantly your patience throughout the tour of my client. Dr. Chrysantha Mendis is very happy with the entire Tour. You did a fantastic job by organizing a detailed tour package covering 7 countries, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Chile, Peru, Argentina, and Brazil. Dr. Mendis has enjoyed all the countries though he could not do a few tours in Peru which is understandable due to political unrest. We will recommend Ada Tours to all our clients in Sri Lanka and will start promoting your tours in our website.
Best wishes and kind regards,
Shamali

Hi Anna, thank you for the update on the glasses. I’ll wait and see what happens! Alan and I are now back in the UK. We loved our trip to the Pantanal and Bonito. Our guide, Alessandra was brilliant with lots of knowledge and very considerate and helpful. The only hitch we had was on our flight back to Rio because the second leg of the trip was cancelled and we were rescheduled to a later plane and our luggage was mislaid. Fortunately it arrived in Rio a day later, before we flew home. Thank you for arranging the trip.
Best wishes Carol

Hello Anna and Natalia,
Thank you for all your help with our trip! I know our group was difficult, and I appreciate your patience with us. We loved the tours, the horseback ride, and the absolutely beautiful lunch at the vineyard. Our guides and drivers were fantastic, especially Luis. And the hotels were perfectly located. It was such a convenience to be centrally located in both Lisbon and Madeira.
I hope you enjoy a wonderful holiday and I look forward to working with you in the new year!

Everything went really well. As always we had to make some adjustments and the local guide and team on the ground were very responsive and took action professionally. I have no complaints about this :)
The clients were very pleased with the tour and all arrangements.
Changing the few meals at the end on Isabela was not an issue and the local team did a good job organizing this for me.

Many thanks again Ana!
