Day 01: San JoséArrival at Juan Santamaría International Airport. A representative will meet you at the airport in order to transfer you to the Hotel.

Day 02: San JoseYou’ll have a panoramic view of the city, including parks and busy city streets. As you drive, your guide will give you interesting insights into the history and culture of Costa Rica’s most vibrant city. (Meals: B)

Day 03: San José / Poas Volcano / La Paz Waterfall Gardens / Arenal VolcanoThis morning you will be picked at your hotel in San José for your journey towards the Central Mountain Range where you will visit La Paz Waterfall Gardens and Poas Volcano. Later, we will start our tour to Poas Volcano. As we ascend towards the Poas Volcano we will notice the change in temperature and vegetation; we will see coffee plantations as well as fern, flower and strawberry farms along the way, creating a beautiful landscape. In the Poas Volcano where we will not only admire the impressive main crater with its sulfur fumaroles, but also learn about the different ecosystems in this beautiful national park. Following the visit to the volcano we will continue to La Paz Waterfall Garden for lunch and tour. On arrival to the La Paz, we will walk through a trail, leading to a spectacular waterfall in the middle of the rainforest. Inside the park we will also visit the hummingbird gallery, the serpentarium, the bird house, the butterfly garden and the frog’s exhibit. Continue to the northern lowlands of Arenal Volcano and La Fortuna town. Relax in the best hot springs of the área. (Meals: B, L)

Day 04: Arenal VolcanoThe Arenal Hanging Bridges at Mistico Park is a beautiful, environmentally-friendly nature project located near the Arenal Volcano for walking tours. There are trails and bridges that bring you as close as you could ever hope to get to the birds, flowers, and the lush vegetation of this primary rainforest. This is the perfect tour for nature enthusiasts visiting Costa Rica! The trails are designed for all ability levels and cover a total of about 2 miles. Once you are on walking along, you will be able to admire the great diversity of flora and fauna typically found in the tropical rain forest and also have the opportunity to see many different birds and plant species for approx 2.5 hrs. Walk right into the forest along several stretches of hanging bridges overlooking the tree canopy along easy, safe and beautiful trails with views of the Arenal Volcano. Appreciate the wildlife as you cross the 15 different bridges, 6 of them are the ones hanging. (Meals: B)

Day 05: Caño Negro Wildlife RefugeBreakfast at the Hotel. You will enjoy the Caño Negro Río Frío Boat Tour Specially for Nature Lovers! This tour highlight is a boat ride on the Frío River, starting at Los Chiles, little town located 4 km from the Nicaraguan border. This river is part of the Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge – a Ramsar site- here you will find one of the most diverse flora and fauna habitats in Costa Rica. Along the river it is possible to observe great quantity of birds like the snake-bird, herons, cormorants and animals such as: howler, spider or even white face monkeys, three - toed sloths and some reptiles like caimans, Jesus Christ lizards and turtles. After lunch, back to Arenal. (Meals: B, L)

Day 06: Arenal VolcanoAM: Chocolate Tour: you will have the opportunity to learn interesting aspects of cocoa and chocolate, from its origin and history, participating in all the production process, from the harvesting of the fruit, drying and grinding of the seed, also the developing of the traditional drink of our ancestors, and of course enjoying a high quality organic chocolate. Enjoy this journey through the history, culture, traditions and the flavor.
PM: At night visit to Baldi Hot Springs is the most expansive hot spring facility in the Arenal Volcano area. The pools are large and small, hot and cold, with walking paths between them. Get some much needed stress relief during your time in Arenal, Costa Rica. Slip into sublime waters of varying temperatures for extended soaking intervals. Often, a cold pool lies adjacent to a warm pool, which allows you to cool down or heat up as you please. In fact, your core temperature will rise after nearly twenty minutes in the hot springs, so it’s advised to spend some time in the colder pools throughout your visit. Dinner at Baldi Hot Springs. Day 07: Arenal Volcano - MonteverdeTransfer to Monteverde. Monteverde is one of the most-unique villages in all of Costa Rica. It has a small-town, rural, country feel with a lot of cowboys walking around downtown Santa Elena, the main eco-touristic hot spot. Trapiche Tour: The tour takes place in our family farm where you will have the opportunity to visit the coffee and sugar cane plantations. You will learn about the traditional process of extracting cane juice and making sobado. You will learn about coffee and its different processes. In addition, he will make his own cane juice-based sweet and taste each product. (Meals: B)
