Three Pearls of South America: What This Tour Gives You

Top highlights

This Brazil Argentina Peru tour brings together an unforgettable combination of nature, culture, and history. You visit cities that are completely different from each other - modern and ancient, active and ruined. You see archaeological sites and waterfalls, high-altitude Andean plains and a sacred lake. The itinerary is built without overload: well-planned stops, a rich program, and professional guides who give you the context that connects everything you see into one complete story. This is a 14 day South America tour - a three country South America tour that shows you the full range of the region. Ocean and megacities, waterfalls and stone cities in the Andes, a high-altitude lake and houses built from reeds. This is the South America highlights tour - the best of Latin America in two weeks.

You start in Rio de Janeiro tours, a city that sits between water and granite hills. You see it from the top of Sugarloaf and from the Christ the Redeemer statue. You walk along the famous beaches and through the historic center.
You see Iguazu Falls both sides - 275 cascades stretched over nearly 3 kilometers. You walk the Brazilian and Argentine sides, from above, below, and right at the water's edge.
You explore Buenos Aires tours: the colorful facades of La Boca neighborhood, the cobblestones of San Telmo market, Plaza de Mayo and the pink Casa Rosada. And in the evening - passionate tango and great food.
The drive through the Andes is its own experience. Almost no trees - just tough grass, stone, and wind. Herds of llamas and alpacas graze along the road, and small settlements of mud-brick houses appear now and then. A place where the usual rush disappears and you breathe more slowly.
Finally, you go to Peru: the mountain city of Cusco tours at 3,400 meters, the stone walls of Sacsayhuaman, the abandoned and rediscovered Machu Picchu tours, and the high-altitude Lake Titicaca tours.
Food completes the journey: in Rio - seafood and caipirinha; in Buenos Aires - Argentine steak and Malbec wine tasting; in Peru - dishes made with local ingredients and the fresh cuisine of Lima.

Your 14-Day South America Tour: Brazil, Argentina & Peru

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Rio de Janeiro
Arrival in Rio de Janeiro. Transfer to hotel.
Rio pulls you in immediately. On the drive from the airport, the city appears like a series of postcards - damp green hills, granite rocks disappearing into the clouds, narrow roads between them. Rio faces the ocean. Its famous beaches - Copacabana beach and Ipanema beach - stretch for kilometers. On the promenade, paved in black-and-white stone, life never stops even at night. Cold coconut water, cut limes, and the sound of conversations mixing with the sound of the Atlantic.
For those on a multi-country South America itinerary, Rio sets the tone for the whole journey: warm, salt-scented air, the hum of the ocean, and streets, squares, and architecture that you have never seen before.
Day 1: Arrival in Rio de Janeiro -0
Day 2: Rio de Janeiro – Christ the Redeemer & Corcovado
Breakfast. Meeting with your English-speaking guide in the hotel lobby. Today the Rio city tour takes you to the very top of Rio: the Christ the Redeemer tour on Corcovado Mountain (4 hours).
First, a small open train slowly climbs through the Tijuca Forest on the Corcovado train. Between the trunks, gaps open for a second — a glimpse of the bay or a rooftop — and then the green closes again. At the top, the platform opens up. The Christ the Redeemer statue stands at the edge — for some, the symbol of the city and one of the great viewpoints; for others, a sacred place that must be visited.
From the platform you see the whole city in the haze: the shining Guanabara Bay and the Niteroi bridge, the green patch of the Botanical Garden, Sugarloaf Mountain, and the famous Maracanã stadium. For a moment the noise of the city below disappears and you stand still, taken by the scale and beauty of Rio in its bowl between the mountains and the sea.
Day 2: Rio de Janeiro – Christ the Redeemer & Corcovado -1
Day 3: Rio de Janeiro – Sugarloaf Mountain & Colonial Center
Breakfast. Meeting with your English-speaking guide. City tour and Sugarloaf Mountain cable car excursion (4 hours).
You drive to Praia Vermelha beach. From here, the Sugarloaf Mountain cable car lifts off the ground and glides over the green. First stop: Urca Hill (220 m) - a wide viewpoint with cafés and colorful views over the dark bay with hundreds of white boats and yachts. Central Rio appears close and alive below.
From the top of Sugarloaf (396 m) you see the beaches and the Atlantic more clearly. Across the bay, the satellite city of Niteroi is connected by a long, thin bridge. And the Christ the Redeemer statue draws your eye from Corcovado.
After coming down, the route leads to the historic center: churches and monasteries from the 16th to 18th centuries, colonial facades, and the main Cathedral. Walking the center and looking at the details - pale plaster aged by time, carved doors, wrought-iron balconies, stone-paved streets - is how you really get to know Rio.
Day 3: Rio de Janeiro – Sugarloaf Mountain & Colonial Center -2
Day 4: Fly to Iguazu – The Edge of the Waterfalls
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport, flight to Foz do Iguaçu. Transfer to your hotel.
In the Guaraní language, Iguazu means "great water." Volcanic activity and tectonic shifts created a system of 275 cascades stretched over nearly 3 kilometers. Iguazu National Park surrounds the falls with dense greenery, vines, and brightly colored birds. Besides the viewpoints and hiking trails, you can take a boat among the waterfalls. Don't forget waterproof covers for your electronics and good non-slip shoes.
Day 4: Fly to Iguazu – The Edge of the Waterfalls -3
Day 5: Iguazu Falls – The Brazilian Side (+ Optional Excursions)
Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to the Iguazu Falls Brazilian side with your English-speaking guide.
The walkways run along the edge of the cascades, and the waterfall system reveals itself gradually. The water moves in wide steps, gathers into powerful streams, and crashes down with a roar. The sound - a constant white noise - fills the space and drowns out conversation. You walk the trails and Iguazu Falls tours shows you different angles: sometimes individual streams, sometimes the whole line at once.
Then the air becomes damp. You are approaching the most dramatic view - the gorge of Devil's Throat Iguazu. The contrast between the lazy river above and the thundering cascades below is extraordinary. This is the moment you understand why you chose to come to Iguazu Falls both sides on a South America tours itinerary.

Optional extras:
Iguazu National Park Bird Park ($50/person) - next to the national park, a series of large walk-through enclosures where the tropical forest is kept almost natural. Toucans, parrots, and ibises fly across the paths and sit on branches at eye level. Their colors are impossible not to stare at.

Macuco Safari ($130/person) - two stages: first an open jeep through the jungle (red earth, dense green, rustling leaves), then a short walk to the river and a motorboat that takes you right up to the base of the falls. Spray hangs in the air, rainbows appear around you. Unique photos of the waterfalls from the water.
Day 5: Iguazu Falls – The Brazilian Side (+ Optional Excursions) -4
Day 6: Iguazu Falls – The Argentine Side & Flight to Buenos Aires
Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to the Iguazu Falls Argentine side with your English-speaking guide.
There are three main routes here. The upper trail runs along metal walkways above the cascades — the water moves directly under your feet and you see how the line of waterfalls forms. The lower trail passes under the ledges, between the rocks. The noise gets louder, thick moisture hangs in the air, and spray reaches your face.
A separate trail leads to Devil's Throat Iguazu. The path runs along long boardwalks over the calm river, and at some point the river suddenly drops away, gathering into one stream. This is why Iguazu Falls both sides feel completely different: on this side you walk alongside the water, above it, and below it, gradually putting the whole picture together.
After the excursion, transfer to the airport and flight to Buenos Aires. Transfer from the airport to your hotel
Day 6: Iguazu Falls – The Argentine Side & Flight to Buenos Aires -5
Day 7: Buenos Aires – City Tour, La Boca, Recoleta & Tango Show
Breakfast at the hotel. City tour with your English-speaking guide (3 hours) - this is your Buenos Aires city guide day.
Buenos Aires is a city of contrasts. You walk through the old La Boca neighborhood with its bright painted houses and street artists on Caminito street. You step into San Telmo market: stone cobblestones, antique shops on Plaza Dorrego, bars with open doors. You see the city center, Plaza de Mayo with the presidential palace Casa Rosada. Then you walk to Avenida 9 de Julio - one of the widest streets in the world - and the Obelisk, built to mark Argentina's independence. You visit the elegant Recoleta cemetery and the El Pilar colonial church. And finally, modern Puerto Madero with its waterfront and parks.
In the evening: a tango show Buenos Aires - an Argentine tango dinner show with live music, the most passionate and tender dance in the world, and a menu of traditional dishes with excellent Malbec wine tasting. This is the Argentine steak experience and the tango in one night.
Day 7: Buenos Aires – City Tour, La Boca, Recoleta & Tango Show -6
Day 8: Fly to Lima – City of Contrasts
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Buenos Aires airport for your flight to Lima (with a connection). On arrival, a driver meets you and takes you to your hotel.
Your Brazil Argentina Peru tour reaches its next chapter - first the coast, Lima. Then the high-altitude regions of Peru: stark landscapes, rich history, and ancient cities.
Day 8: Fly to Lima – City of Contrasts -7
Day 9: Lima – Parque del Amor, Historic Center & Larco Museum
After breakfast, your English-speaking guide takes you through the highlights of the Lima city tour.
The route starts in the historic center: the main square with the Cathedral, the San Francisco Monastery, and buildings with carved wooden balconies hanging over narrow streets. White plaster facades, the shade of the arches, and dense colonial architecture that has survived intact.
Then you move to the residential neighborhoods. In San Isidro: an olive grove, a golf course, and quiet low-rise streets. Then you head to Miraflores district and Parque del Amor — a clifftop park above the ocean with grey-blue water below, a light breeze, and beautiful mosaic work inspired by Barcelona's Park Güell. Then the central park, the Town Hall, and Larco Avenue with its shops and cafés.
Optional visit: the Larco Museum) — one of the finest collections of pre-Columbian art in the world, housed in an 18th-century mansion surrounded by gardens. A must for anyone interested in Inca culture tour and Andean culture experience.

For those fascinated by this civilization, we also recommend visiting Bolivia and the Uyuni Salt Flats as part of our three-country tour - Peru, Bolivia and Chile Tour
Day 9: Lima – Parque del Amor, Historic Center & Larco Museum -8
Day 10: Fly to Cusco – Sacsayhuaman Archaeological Park
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport and flight to Cusco. Meeting on arrival and transfer to your hotel. Take it easy today if you are worried about altitude - Cusco sits at 3,400 meters and your body needs a little time.
In the afternoon, your English-speaking guide takes you to the Sacsayhuaman archaeological park.
First stop: Tambomachay - the sacred fountains of life and health, once worshipped by the local people. Then Qenqo - an ancient temple where you see a sacrificial altar, a huge cold stone hidden in the lower part of the complex. Then the Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman itself: stone blocks up to 4 meters high, weighing tens of tons, fitted without mortar so precisely that not even a knife blade fits between them. From the platforms here, you have a panoramic view over all of Cusco. Last stop: Puca Pucara, a watchtower.
Day 10: Fly to Cusco – Sacsayhuaman Archaeological Park -9
Day 11: The Main Wonder – Machu Picchu (Full Day)
Breakfast at the hotel. Full-day excursion to Machu Picchu tours - the "Lost City of the Incas" - with an English-speaking guide.
The journey starts by train - the Machu Picchu by train route runs alongside the Urubamba River between steep slopes. You arrive in the small town of Aguas Calientes, then take a 30-minute bus ride up to Machu Picchu. The gorge narrows, and among the mountains the city appears.
Machu Picchu sits at about 2,400 meters above sea level. Stone terraces, stairways, and walls of large fitted blocks. Everything is built to follow the terrain: the platforms follow the mountain line, and around them dense greenery and sheer drops. The Spanish never found this city. Only in 1911 did the American archaeologist Hiram Bingham discover it. The full story of the place is still not clear: it is believed that after the fall of the Inca Empire, priests took refuge here - but why did the city eventually die out?
Lunch included. Return to Cusco by train, transfer to hotel.
Day 11: The Main Wonder – Machu Picchu (Full Day) -10
Day 12: Through the Altiplano – Cusco to Puno by Tourist Bus
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the bus station. Journey to Puno on a tourist bus (group, English-speaking guide) across the Peruvian Altiplano.
The landscape changes gradually: from the green valleys of Cusco to dry, almost flat plains with sparse vegetation and herds of llamas and alpacas. This is the Andean highlands - part of the Sacred Valley tour experience extended into the high plateau.
Along the way: a stop at the Pikillacta ruins; the 17th-century church in Andahuaylillas church - a simple facade hiding a richly painted interior (called the "Sistine Chapel of the Americas"); and Raqchi with the Temple of Viracocha - tall walls and open galleries.
After a lunch stop in Sicuani, you head to La Raya pass - the natural border between Cusco and Puno. Dark peaks covered in white snow, and above them a layer of cloud. A stunning, severe landscape. The journey takes about 10 hours. Evening arrival in Puno (3,827 m), transfer to hotel.
Day 12: Through the Altiplano – Cusco to Puno by Tourist Bus -11
Day 13: Lake Titicaca & Uros Floating Islands
Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to Lake Titicaca tours with your English-speaking guide (about 3 hours).
This is the highest navigable lake in the world. The water is dark blue, almost still, and the horizon merges with the sky. By boat you head to the Uros floating islands — islands built from totora reeds. The surface is springy under your feet, the boats at the piers rock gently, and their pointed prows are made from the same reeds. The Aymara people live here, preserving their traditional way of life, beliefs, and national costumes.
Next stop: Taquile Island). Men here knit woolen chullu hats, and women weave belts and textiles with geometric patterns. The island has a long tradition of textile craft recognized by UNESCO.
After the excursion, transfer to Juliaca airport with your English-speaking guide and flight to Lima. On arrival, transfer to your hotel.
Day 13: Lake Titicaca & Uros Floating Islands -12
Day 14: Departure from Lima
Transfer to the airport for your international flight home.
Over the course of this 14 day South America tour you have moved through very different worlds: the coastal city of Rio with its hills and beaches, the thundering cascades of Iguazu, the stone streets of Buenos Aires and the bright facades of La Boca, ancient Cusco at 3,400 meters, and the dark waters of Lake Titicaca. This Brazil Argentina Peru 14 days itinerary is built so that every stop gives you a distinct experience. And even after you return home, the impressions keep coming back - and keep calling you to return to Latin America.
Day 14: Departure from Lima -13

Buenas noches Viera.

Pavel, good afternoon!
My name is Marina Ryzhuk. A few weeks ago, our VIP group from St. Petersburg visited Rio with you. I believe you remember them well.
I’d like to thank you for your excellent work with our rather demanding guests. After the trip, they spoke very highly of your services. Our particularly important gentlemen especially appreciated your personal approach — you managed to find a special way to connect with them.
Through your tours, they were able to truly feel the city, which is absolutely priceless on such trips.
Thank you!

They said everything was as precise as with the Germans :)
REVIEW №10- Mikhail and Elena Leksikov
Good afternoon, we were in Rio de Janeiro March 15–17, 2020. Not for long, but it was very full of experiences.
The driver who met us at the airport, to our joy, spoke English and even a little Russian. He pointed out where we could walk and eat.
The next day we met Eleonora, a GUIDE and a Person with a capital P. We were lucky to visit Corcovado and see Brazil’s main symbol. Unfortunately, we couldn’t make it to Sugarloaf Mountain due to the coronavirus quarantine.
Instead of the canceled excursion, Eleonora gave us an impromptu city tour. She tells stories in an interesting way, knows a lot, but doesn’t overwhelm with facts, shows where the best photo spots are, and even took pictures herself. Thanks to her, we managed to get coffee and souvenirs—it turned out not so easy to find what we wanted.
She was very caring and concerned for us—even after we went to Búzios, she kept checking how we were, suggesting where to go and what to see and buy.

A very close-knit, friendly team, always ready to help.
REVIEW №11- Nikita, Saga Tour Operator
Good afternoon, Alexandra!
Thank you very much for the organization and support.
The tourist was very happy and said everything was top-notch :)
Paraty is definitely a place to recommend—it leaves no one indifferent. Porto Real is probably in the best spot on that coast.

Thank you!
Wishing you success in everything!

Alexandra!
Our clients have returned, very satisfied.
They left a special review about the guide in Quito:
In Quito, we had a wonderful guide named David.
During our three-day visit to Quito, your guide David was with us. He made our stay in Quito rich, interesting, and unforgettable. Not only does he know a lot about the city, the country, and its nature, he is also a truly interesting person himself. Our three days were filled with conversations about everything. Our knowledge of Ecuador is now practically encyclopedic—we learned so much. And the most important part was that it all happened through engaging discussions.
We’d like to highlight his punctuality, his thoughtfulness, and his attention to detail. His advice on restaurants and places to walk during our free time was invaluable. We’ve met many guides—this is the 103rd country we’ve visited. We don’t always get so lucky with a guide, but David was exceptional. Thank you to him and to all of you!!!

THANK YOU FOR THE EXCELLENT ORGANIZATION.
REVIEW №14- Elena and Evgeny

A poem dedicated to the Ada Tours guide!
In Rio, where sunlight meets golden skies,
Our guide Paulo greets us with kind, warm eyes.
He knows the whole city, where secrets lie deep,
And welcomes each guest with joy that’s sincere.
“Come on,” he says, “to Corcovado,
Christ calls you up to heaven’s shadow.
Then on to the beach, where waves beat the shore,
Copacabana invites us once more.”

Paulo will show us where samba resides,
Where Brazil’s true heartbeat endlessly thrives.
In favelas he sees not poverty, but life,
Where sparks of hope conquer struggle and strife.

With a smile, he leads us along every way,
Paulo’s our friend, our golden pathway.
A Brazilian guide, a master of wonder,
With him, Rio feels closer to heaven’s splendor.

This poem is from me, for you.

Good afternoon, Alexandra.
I want to thank you for organizing our vacation.
Our guides were simply outstanding – top class.
Pavel knows so much about Brazil and Rio in particular. He’s very easy to talk to, communicates effortlessly with people, is always learning something new, and gladly shares his knowledge. An excellent guide and a wonderful person.
And Tiago – we spent two days with him. He’s amazing. Even after 18 years of work, he hasn’t lost the ability to genuinely admire the beauty of the waterfalls. He still takes photos like it’s the first time.
With your guides, it’s never boring! Thank you once again!!!
REVIEW №33- Tatyana Yakubova
Hello, Alexandra.
I am sending you the full version of the tourists’ feedback:
We are publishing our review after our trip through Argentina–Uruguay–Brazil with my wife. It is always a pleasure to share emotions when they are entirely positive! We want to thank the entire Ada Tours team who helped us organize the perfect journey. From the very idea of the trip to its completion, you were always in touch with us, tailoring excursions and building the itinerary based on our requests, while also giving valuable advice and making all necessary adjustments. Everything exceeded our already high expectations – the trip was very rich and exciting! We recommend this route to everyone, especially when its organization can be entrusted to professionals☺️
We would especially like to thank you for selecting wonderful guides and drivers. At every stage, everything went like clockwork – we never missed a single thing, and the drivers were always extremely polite and pleasant.
Our journey began in Buenos Aires with a city tour. We visited the main square – Plaza de Mayo, cathedrals, and saw key architectural monuments from the Spanish colonial period, as well as the modern financial center. We explored the vibrant and colorful La Boca district and the main city ports. We were lucky with the weather, and the tour was fascinating. The guide advised us to visit several additional places, and we chose the Recoleta Cemetery, where many of Argentina’s most famous figures are buried. After the tour, we asked to be dropped off near the entrance and bought tickets. The only issue we faced was that we couldn’t pay in cash, but other visitors kindly helped us with the payment. The cemetery left a strong impression on us – we would definitely recommend it as a must-visit.
In the evening, we went to a tango show that exceeded all expectations. We watched authentic Argentine tango performed to live music, enjoyed Argentine wine, and saw other artists showcasing traditional instruments. The show was incredible and allowed us to truly experience the local culture.
The next morning we traveled by ferry to Montevideo. The journey was very comfortable; we would only recommend bringing snacks and an extra layer of clothing, as despite the heat, the ferry was air-conditioned and quite cool inside. We loved the city itself – we managed to see all the main sights and stroll along the coast. Midway through the tour, a wonderful lunch was arranged for us, followed by a light meal at the hotel.
After Montevideo, we continued as planned to Patagonia, where we spent just under three days. This place amazed us – it’s like nowhere else on Earth. From our hotel, we could see the vast Lake Argentino with its turquoise waters (sometimes flamingos can be seen there, though unfortunately we didn’t). The scenery of the Patagonian steppe and mountains will remain in our hearts for a long time. We took an excursion to the Perito Moreno Glacier – a unique wonder, truly beyond words. Probably the most powerful impression of the whole trip came from this glacier and the national park. It’s something everyone should witness with their own eyes.
After our mini-journey in Patagonia, we went on to Iguassu Falls, viewing them from both the Argentine and Brazilian sides. The sight was utterly unique and magical! Jungle, soaring eagles, butterflies, monkeys, and an endless chain of waterfalls stretching beyond sight. The park’s trails are very well maintained, with rest areas to escape the heat and humidity, and facilities everywhere.
The final stop of our trip was Brazil’s tourist capital – Rio de Janeiro. We visited the Christ the Redeemer statue, with its breathtaking views of the city, then spent time on Copacabana Beach, enjoying the Atlantic Ocean.
Overall, our journey was amazing and very full! And most importantly – as comfortable as possible, considering how vast the geography of our route was. Thank you!
Once again, thank you!

Sincerely,

Dear Alexandra!
Thank you for organizing the trip for our important clients.
It was a real pleasure working with you, and I apologize for bombarding you with questions of varying importance. The thing is, when we were selecting a partner to handle this request, many of our colleagues who shared DMC contacts warned me that there would inevitably be problems, insisting that in Brazil no one could arrange a program without “mistakes.” Because of this, I was genuinely worried. And after receiving the first replies from other companies to my requests, I too started to believe that problems would definitely arise along the way. But that was only until I received your reply.
Everything was clear, to the point, and most importantly – your support on all matters. From nudging hotel concierges to answer my emails to recommending a restaurant in São Paulo. The clients really liked the restaurant – a special BIG THANK YOU for that recommendation!
The clients’ comments about the trip, verbatim: “We loved everything, the trip was pure joy. Especially São Paulo – it’s Paradise.”
Thank you so much for your help, your support, and simply for being in Brazil!
I’ll stay in touch and wish you a wonderful day!
Sincerely,
Dmitry Romanov
