Lima and Cusco
DAY 1: LIMA | INC: -.
Arrival in Lima, meet and greet at the airport, transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon we will have a tour through Lima’s streets and plazas. Starting at the Love Park in Miraflores, with a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean, and then heading to the Huaca Pucllana, ceremonial center of the Lima culture. After this, we go on to the Main Square where the Government Palace and the Town Hall are located. We will visit the Cathedral and explore the Santo Domingo Convent, along which corridors San Martin de Porras and San Rosa de Lima used to walk around in 17th century, and where their remains rest today. Stay in Lima.
DAY 2: LIMA | INC: B/ 14-station tasting menu
Do not know what to eat or what Peruvian gastronomy is all about? Then, venture into a virtual tour across the origins of Peruvian gastronomy. Special and audio-visual effects will surprise you in a unique tour that will teach you everything about the gastronomic history of our country and the variety of its products and ecosystems. DAY 3: LIMA / CUSCO / SACRED VALLEY | INC: B
Transfer to the airport and flight to Cusco. Upon arrival we will be transferred to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Free rest of the day to enjoy the hotel facilities and surrounding areas. Stay at the Sacred Valley.
DAY 4: SACRED VALLEY / MACHU PICCHU/ CUSCO| INC: B/L
We will go to Ollantaytambo train station, where we will depart by train to visit one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. We arrive at the Aguas Calientes station where our staff will assist us on boarding the bus to go up the winding road to Machu Picchu, amid a spectacular view of the Urubamba River and its canyon. The Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu, will astonish us with its terraces, ceremonial shrines, steps and urban areas. Energy is all around us. After a guided visit, we will have lunch at one of the restaurants in the area. At the arranged time, we will return to Cusco and will be transferred to the hotel. Stay at the Sacred Valley
DAY 5: CUSCO | INC: B
Exclusive city tour that starts at San Cristobal Plaza to enjoy a panoramic view of the city. We will then visit Saint Peter Market, where we will be able to appreciate the local flavors and learn about the local produce in this market where you can find everything and is the main supply center of the city. We will then continue to the Koricancha Temple that will welcome us with its splendor. The Golden Precinct is the meaning of its name in Quechua and we can still feel the sumptuousness of its walls that were once lined in gold sheets. From Saint Blas, the craftsmen’s quarters we will walk down along the Hatun Rumiyoc street, finding midway the Inca Roca Palace, today the Archbishop’s Palace; and we will have time to appreciate the worldwide famous Stone of the Twelve Angles. We will go on to the Main Square to visit the Cathedral that houses invaluable colonial works of art. Stay at the Sacred Valley
DAY 6: VINICUNCA | INC: B/L.
Very early in the morning, we will start our journey across Valle Sur toward Phulawasipata, which is the starting point of our hike to the Cerro Colorado or 7-color Mountain, located about 100 km. southeast of Cusco city. After enjoying our breakfast, we will start our hike to reach the control center and enter this mystical place. During our walk we will observe how colors around us change due to the weather. We will reach an altitude of 5000 meters, approximately, which is the top of this mysterious mountain. Geological formations will reveal all its splendor; the contrast of the blue sky creates a formidable line between the coast desert and the Amazon jungle, guided by the beautiful Ausangate. After a guided visit, we will have lunch at one of the restaurants in the area. At the arranged time, we will return to Cusco.
DAY 7: CUSCO | INC: D
In the morning we will distance from the crowds and visit Sacsayhuaman, a huge and impressive fortress of colossal constructions and surrounded by beautiful views blending together perfectly. Our adventure continues at the Inca Shrine Qenqo, to see the sacrificial altar embedded inside a rock cave. Finally we will arrive to the Puca Pucara viewpoint and Tambomachay, monument of impressive architectonic knowledge considered as one of the pillars of Andean Cosmo vision. Stay in Cusco.
DAY 8: FD Humantay Lagoon| INC: L
Very early in the morning we will pick you up at your hotel and start our trip by bus to our first stop, the district of Mollepata called "the pantry of the world" for its splendid and varied agricultural production. After a short break, we will continue to Soraypampa starting point of our trek. Along the way we will see various ecological floors and beautiful landscapes. After an hour and a half of hiking, at 4,200 m.s. we will delight ourselves with the impressive Humantay Lagoon that has turquoise and crystalline colors that contrast remarkably with the majestic snow-capped mountains of the area: Humantay and Salkantay. After enjoying the spectacular beauty of the place, we will return to Soraypampa for lunch and at the indicated time, we will return along the same road to Cusco.
