Utila

At eleven miles long and approximately two miles wide, funky, laid-back Utila island in Honduras is the smallest of the Caribbean Bay Islands. Roatan might be the most visited, and Guanaja might be the most pristine, but Utila’s residents and die-hard devotees have many reasons they prefer the westernmost isle.
The island is a tropical paradise very popular between backpackers and those who are traveling on a budget. That's because it is one of the cheapest destinations in the world to dive or even to obtain PADI Scuba diving certification. With beautiful corals and great marine biodiversity - including the incredible whale shark - diving there is certainly a unique experience. Above the land, the island is full of small deserted beaches and the only town there, also called Útila, where you can find hotels and restaurants.
