Soberania National Park is considered to be one of the most accessible areas for bird watching and wildlife observation in Central America. You will visit the Rainforest Discovery Center and climb up its observation tower, and then explore the nature trails nearby for birds, insects, flora and fauna. Avid bird watchers have the option to also bird along the prestigious Pipeline Road that is world famous among birdwatchers due to its high yield in bird species. Aerial tram tour is not available on Mondays. This tour also includes ecological expositions: orchid, butterflies and frog nurseries, as well as Sloths rescue center. Drive to a small marina at the town of Gamboa, where the Chagres River meets the Panama Canal. Here you board an expedition boat and depart on an adventure that will include a voyage across Gatun Lake in the Panama Canal passing by gigantic cargo ships transiting the waterway, making contrast with the natural surroundings. Your expedition boat will allow for close approximations to rainforest covered islands (former hill tops) in Gatun Lake to search for White-faced Capuchin, Mantled Howler Monkey, Central American spider monkey, and Geoffrey’s Tamarin.
